Started ok, but constantly fails now
Edit:This app is even worse than before. It won't load any shows at all. Clearing cache/unistalling doesn't help- this is a developer issue.I dont use this app very often, I have it loaded on my Firestick and use it mainly when I'm traveling.I started having trouble this past month with it refusing to open or if it does, it shows an error message.I have cleared the data and cache, I have removed and re-added, it doesnt help. There is 2 other apps that I have problems with (The History Channel and Pluto); not sure if they are somehow connected but those are consistently the ones giving my problems while the other 20 or so apps on my Firestick work fine.
Thank you for your feedback
Sorry, there was an error

Honestly the usual streaming services are driving me crazy with the shows they are putting out. That just makes this one even better with the fresh shows & they aren’t afraid they might fart in the wrong direction & offend some group of overly sensitive people like our typical Hollywood bull crap. They also aren’t afraid to replace the entire original cast if they want to leave so the show can still continue another 20 years without one person holding them hostage (ahem… example, Greys Anatomy) & they do it in a way that seems natural to the show & they use the right actors to replace them (unlike ruining a show like FBI Most Wanted who used a “bad guy” from Law & Order Organized Crime, not to mention his movies, etc. where he place abusive husbands, serial killers & just evil characters & just weeks after being killed off Law & Order as a HATED character, they use him in a “good” character roll to replace Jess?!!?!! - total bullcrap way to ruin a show) sorry for the side track, I just get so mad about stupidity! That’s why BBC is so refreshing! Whatever kind of blackmail that was used to get him his part on FBI Most Wanted doesn’t happen on BBC. They aren’t about the politics, their about the entertainment & art of the shows! Original, Fresh, entertaining! The US copies theirs in fact! They just usually hatchet the job though!
BBC, please don’t change!! (Anymore than you have! I did pick up on the change in silent witness with the cloth covers, especially with the men. Shame on you for giving in even a little to pressure! It’s a slippery slope! Thankfully that’s been your only one though!!)

The BBC America App is easy to install and use on my FireTV. It's a well designed app and searching for content is quick. The only thing to be aware of is that you will likely need to log into your provider account in order to be able to watch on-demand content.

The app will advise you if this is necessary and bring up a searchable list for you to choose from, then take you to a login page. My only gripe is that I wish this process were easier than having to click through a username and password with a small remote control (fireTV). I have other apps that present with a numeric code that you enter on a website which can be done with a smartphone or PC browser - and that is faster and more convenient. That doesn't impact the usability of the BBCA app, just a personal preference on how it could be improved when you have to login.

You should only have to authorize one time and the app will save your settings so you can then watch whatever you want to watch. If your provider is not in the list, then you will not be able to access the content, so just be aware of that. And you will also need to have an account with your provider - so check to be sure you can log into your provider through the normal methods first.

The app streams well and the videos that I've watched are high quality. I have tested it both on PC and on FireTV and both work consistently (the PC test was the direct interface on BBC America to validate whether the stream was of similar quality as what I was getting through the app - and it was).

BBC America sold out to crappy American reruns and very little original BBC/ITV content like it used to have when it first came on. The only original show is Graham Norton, but you have to be into talk shows for that. He does get the best guests in the world, though. BBC America isn't worth your time anymore, so as a channel it would get only one star.

I’m disgusted and just over AMC/BBC. Both apps are garbage! My cable provider is listed in their services blah blah blah...but every time I try to watch anything on demand, I get a ‘connectivity’ error. I’m all logged in everywhere, tracking cookies are selling every bit of data about me, but I can’t watch anything...oh, commercials are fine though...can’t miss those intro commercials.
I’ve emailed the sad pathetic support-bots at AMC and gave up. They reply with copy/paste scripted garbage...I’ve already sent all the data about operating system, app version, etc. but two pointless emails later they’re asking for the same info from the previous email. A perpetual loop of stupidity.
I get that u need a cable subscription to view their garbage-on-demand, and I have one with Philo...but I had these same issues when I had Spectrum and a giant cable bill each month.
My WiFi setup has been examined top to bottom and is perfect. It seems as though AMC/BBC are trying covertly to force everyone into paying for some ‘premiere’ package bs that I don’t want or need. As though an upgrade would solve this ‘glitch’?..I doubt it and frankly I’m not paying more, period. If they want everyone to pay for on-demand, just say it...don’t give me ‘glitches’ and excuses and stupidity. And FYI it says right in their TOS what cable streaming services give you access to on-demand, and mine’s on the list.
I’m just fed up with all this mess.
