The haptic feedback is great - when you click on the pencil to change to an eraser, the feed back lets you know it happened. It will also let you know that it straightened a line for you when you hold the cursor down.2. The hovering does two things. If you are in an Apple graphic app, it lets you know exactly where the pencil will touch down. In apps and websites with menus, it acts like a rollover without touching the screen.3. Rotating the pencil - the picture with the 3 lines illustrates this. The vertical & first horizontal line is using the marker tool in Freeform at the selected width. This pencil works amazingly with my iPad. Conveniently charges and pairs on the side. Love the haptic feedback and the ability to find it on the map. It's a little pricy, but if you want a good styles for your iPad I recommend this one.

This review is more for people who have used Apple pencils because I’m focusing on what’s new
Pros
1. The haptic feedback is great - when you click on the pencil to change to an eraser, the feed back lets you know it happened. It will also let you know that it straightened a line for you when you hold the cursor down.
2. The hovering does two things. If you are in an Apple graphic app, it lets you know exactly where the pencil will touch down. In apps and websites with menus, it acts like a rollover without touching the screen.
3. Rotating the pencil - the picture with the 3 lines illustrates this. The vertical & first horizontal line is using the marker tool in Freeform at the selected width. The second horizontal line was done by rotating the pencil.
4. Squeezing the pencil - in settings, you decide what it will do. Many choices - I tried show tool palette (the other picture)

1. it only works with the 2024 iPad Air & Pro, Also those iPads will only work with this pencil, so if you buy a new iPad, you’ll need to buy a Pencil too
2. Procreate - and I’m assuming (but haven’t tried) other non Apple apps - have not yet played with their apps to get it to get them to work with haptic feedback, squeeze or pencil rotation yet. Hovering in the gallery view is lots of fun though, it flashes through all the layers of an image you hover over.
Minor con - it is slightly bigger than the old one. Only a problem for those of us with small hands.
