Excellent tool for dryer vents
I bough this to clean the dryer vent that goes from our utility room and up to the rooftop.I had intentions on using this several months ago when I bought it but kept putting it off because of a busy schedule. The dryer got to where it wasn’t drying clothes well.So, I tackled the project last night. I was shocked at how much lint came out of the vent pipe. There was so much lint that at times, the dust was making it hard to breath. Using my shop vac was a huge help.My vent opening was situated near the floor, so, that it was difficult to attach the individual sticks. I made sure to install them one by one and in the same direction, since these are directional.I just kept working the brush up n down with my cordless 18v Milwaukee drill. For my application, it took 11 sticks to reach the vent top.In total, I filled my shop vac about a third of the way full. The vac filter had about 3 inches of lint attached to it. I still cannot believe how much lint came out.As long as you keep the drill goin in the forward tightening direction, you should have no issues.It was a lengthy process because of having little room to attach my individual sticks. I had to remove the one by one as I removed it from the vent.The sticks and brush were durable enough that I’m confident I could get several uses from this kit.

This kit is engineered way better than previous kits we've used. Instead of the usual coiled cable or plastic rod, this thing comes in flexible sections with quality hardware that screw together; allowing you to customize the length to your particular vent line up to 30' while keeping it as short as possible making it easier to use. As long as you follow the clear instructions to only rotate it clockwise, it will never unscrew itself and get stuck in your vent line. I actually put duct tape on each joint just in case I forgot and reversed the drill and it was totally unnecessary. In fact, I had to use pliers to unscrew some sections when I was done because they got very tight during use. A GREAT product that should last a lifetime of use. Worth every penny.

Getting this was the result of mounting anxiety about the state of our dryer duct. We have a gas dryer (yuck) in the center of our house and the idea of a lint filled tinder box in the wall was not sitting well.

Looking at solutions, we could have someone come annually, but for the price of this tool to be able to do it myself seemed like a no brainer to try. This kit was affordable, fairly easy to use, and appears to have worked. I opened the box carefully and it's a brilliant compact design that I am reusing. My one complaint was that after use, there were some segments that were difficult to unscrew.

If your vest tube is long, it may be helpful to have someone with you to guide the long connected shaft in and out as the drill spins and you push it in and out.

Such a simple device. Just attach each segment, for the length that you need, and secure to the drill then use as directed. I was happy that I could remove dryer lint from 8' of horizontal ducting from the outside of the building, but ecstatic that I could do the same with 6' of vertical ducting that went from the inside dryer room walls up to that outside horizontal shaft. I sure would like to talk to the person that thought it was a good idea to vent the dryer up the wall at a 90 degree angle, after two feet of exhaust from the dryer! I guess that the builders just had to follow the plans. Thanks Amazon for providing a product that works!

When I ordered this, for the price, I was expecting some flimsy, gimmicky thing that, while not great, would get the job done if I put some effort into it.

What I got feels like a professional-grade product. The brush itself is sturdy, and stood up to the beating my drill gave it. The connector rods are this Goldilocks mix of strong enough to take the abuse, but flexible enough to bend its way through a pipe corner 15 feet away. The connections between rods are strong and stable. I don't know why some reviewers felt the need to tape them-- unless you put your drill in reverse (which you are explicitly warned not to do) those things aren't gonna come apart.

For my use, I took off the outside cover of my dryer vent, and stuck in the hose of my shop-vac and turned it on. I then went inside and ran the brush all the way through the vent until it hit the shop vac hose, and then pulled it back out. After it was done, I shined a flashlight into the vent to look, and it seriously looked like I had just had a professional duct cleaner service it. I was very impressed.

The only thing I disliked about this is it really doesn't work well as a 1-person job. With multiple people, you could potentially connect the brush to your preferred length, and while one person holds the drill, the other people help guide the brush through the vent. Doing this by myself, it wasn't really feasible to hold my drill and try to guide a brush head located 20 feet away. I ended up connecting 3-feet worth of length, drilling the brush mostly into the vent, disconnecting the drill, unscrewing the drill-bit, screwing on 3 more feet of length, screwing back on the drill-bit, and repeat 4 times for the length of my vent. It was really time consuming and annoying, but its not really a problem with the product itself. I'm not willing to pay $500 for some telescoping brush, so I'm not going to get one.

As a final bonus, simply connecting the brush to a single rod works as a great drill scrub-brush attachment that I was able to use to clean a variety of other things around the house with as well. So with a little creativity, you're getting more than just a dryer vent cleaner.

Used it to clean out an old dryer vent that probably had never been cleaned before, with lots of twists and turns. The extension lengths work great, just add and remove as needed, and the bristles while not overly hard work effectively at scrubbing off accumulated lint. And the brush is well made with a hard plastic core and bristles that are durable, effective yet not overly hard.

Comes with a warning to not use while the drill is in reverse (because you will unscrew the brush and it will get stuck way up in the vent!). There should be a way to secure the brush so that you can still extract it if it does becomes unscrewed, because if it gets lodged way up in your twisted vent you are in trouble...

Highly recommend this vent cleaner. Easy to assemble just hook up to your drill. Feed it through the pipe and totally removed all the lint dust sand dirt. It actually came out in clumps. Ran it through maybe five times and now dryer indicates the blockage is completely unclogged. I will now proceed to do vents inside the house as it has smaller brush as well for that purpose. Absolutely works amazingly.

 We just bought a brand new washer/dryer. It was taking multiple rounds to dry our laundry. I had a vent cleaner prior to this but it was stiff and didn’t make it around the bends very well. I had managed to get some out. I ordered this one because it had the flexibility I was looking for. Showed up today, unboxed it and went to try it out. The amount of crap that came out was gross. We have an old vent cover, there was very little air flow prior to cleaning. The vent flaps wouldn’t move. After cleaning it’s flowing well, we can smell the laundry outside. 10/10 recommend.
