    This sound bar sounds really good with movies and music. The detachable rear speakers are cool and convienent for suround sound however i constantly have to turn the volume up and down because the action scenes dramaticaly over power the voice volume. You can control the bass, trebble and middle thru the app but thats it. Therse no eq pre sets therse no night mode so we have to turn the bass and volume way down at night. For the price i probably would not recomend this product.

    I have a over 12,000 dollars hard wired surround sound system set up in my media room and I’m only pointing this out to show that I know what sounds good and have something really great to compare this system too.
    I was a little nervous even after doing my research but I went ahead and bought this JBL unit for my other “tv room” that we use for watching everything not just movies. I was shocked by first how easy it was to hook up within 15 minutes or so and most importantly how impressed I was with the sound.
    I tested it out with the Black Panther and Jurassic Park and literally felt I was in the movie! I like the fact you can adjust the level of the sound of the side/rear speaker as well as the bass. Or you can just leave the rear speakers hooked up to the sound bar. If you have any doubts …put them to the side and buy this system with peace of mind! Thank JBL!!!

It got huge sub which surprised my husband a lot but I gives really nice base so he loved it 😉 The detachable parts of speaker fit our needs great as we use the system in a bedroom and got only thin shelf behind the bed and those little Bluetooth speak parts fit work great for amount of space we got.     Pros:
    Very easy to set up.
    Bass is just what you would except from JBL, smooth loud and powerful but not over the top.
    The true wireless speaker sound good, however I leave mine plugged unless I want to really get that surround effect…
    The highs and mids sound great as well. Voice is clear.
    Volume goes up to 30 I believe. For normal watching I’m content at about the 14-18 level, for movie watching day with the fam we crank to about 21-22 with more to spare.
    The app is easy to navigate
    Got mine for $699. Which makes a steal of a deal.

    Compare:
    I don’t know if it’s worth 899$ however I did try the Vizio elevate 2020 model and returned it, app was not reliable and there are plenty of features and customizations, I found myself messing with the features to much… the bass was over the top, to much… the highs did sound slightly better than the JBL, but not by a lot…it is currently on sale tho.. for $699. I think I’d still choose the JBL 700, just because its sounds great, bass is amazing and the wireless speakers are truly wireless and recharge when hooked back up to the main bar!!

    Cons: I do wish it had a tad more customization options, all you can do is tweak the high mid and bass levels that’s it. But that’s it. Hope this helps.

    I was initially searching for a sound solution to help with low dialogue sounds. I was thinking of getting a soundbar specifically designed to augment dialogue but after doing research I settled on this unit. I'm very pleased with it and the dialogue sounds great even with the woofer booming at times. I haven't had any issue hearing the speech portions of the shows and movies.

    One thing I ran into in case this helps anyone else. We were streaming Paramount+ via Roku (because the actual Android P+ app sucks) and there were sound issues. I specifically had a Roku Express. During silent moments the soundbar would cut out and sound would not come back when audio resumed on the show. For example, when skipping intro or when skipping to the next episode, there would be audio issues. I did troubleshooting with JBL, we couldn't solve it so after some more trial and error I updated the Roku to a 4k Stick and the sound issue is gone.

    The JBL Bar 700: 5.1 Channel soundbar with detachable surround sound speakers was a great buy! My husband and I originally owned a Samsung sound bar and it was good, but it was starting to go out and we wanted something with a bit more power.
    We went into our local Best Buy to try out some soundbars and they had two different JBL's. They had a 5.1 (just the bar) and a 7.1 that had the detachable speakers. We decided that the 5.1 was the way to go, but wanted to do some more research before we bought the one at Best Buy. That is when we found this one! It was the same price as the one at Best Buy, but it had the detachable speakers! It was a no brainer!
    It arrived in 2 days and was packaged nicely! It was easy to install and connect to our Sony TV. We are definitely happy with our purchase and will continue to buy JBL!

    I really like the sound, very adjustable and the detachable speakers work really well. I have a MUCH more expensive sound system from 15 years ago that is not as good as this sound bar.

    It was pretty easy to set up. The app could be better, I missed a step in connecting to wifi (hit enter before I had the password entered) and it brought the process to its knees. Had to delete the app and restart after a bunch of spinning circles.

    This soundbar looks fantastic, sounds amazing, great bass, great clarity with movie dialogue. The detachable satellite surround speakers are battery powered, so totally wireless and can go anywhere, and charge from the main bar and last a number of days before needing a recharge. But plus them into the main bar at night and they're ready to go again in the morning. Highly recommend.

    Bought this to upgrade my old LG soundbar, whose subwoofer kept cutting out. This is amazing. Never have any issues with the sub or surrounds cutting out. The bass is CRAZY, shakes the furniture and lamps. Can’t seem to get the ATMOS to work because my TV only outputs ARC not E-ARC, but not a problem, still sounds great. Rear speakers last about 12 hours and recharge in ~3hrs.
    Would buy again and recommend to everyone. Wish I had the budget for the Bar 1000, but this is still amazing.
