Disclaimer: I am not a sound engineer or an audiophile.

    I use these Kanto YU6 for gaming/music/podcasts.

I've had them for 8 months and I've been nothing but pleased with the quality of the sound, build, and overall aesthetic. I was looking to upgrade from my old Logitech setup (which I had been using for 15 years) and wanted to find something that delivered great sound and looked great while doing it.

The highs, mids and lows have enough separation that I've been discovering "new" sounds in games/songs/albums that I've listened to for years.

The treble can have a marginally tinny sound if it's pushed too far but the issue is easily resolved with some level adjusting. Once adjusted it perfectly compliments the mids and lows.

The midrange sits where it should be and delivers clean and crisp audio.

The bass from these speakers is good enough but they really should be paired with a sub. I went with the Kanto 8 and it sounds fantastic! (adjust the crossover to find that optimal sweet spot where the bass is warm and punchy and folds right into the soundscape)

These speakers deliver a clean and beautiful sound. Would recommend!

I love my Kanto speakers! So much flexibility with source inputs, which is why I bought these particular speakers. I plan to purchase a turntable soon, and these speakers allow me to plug it straight into them!

Not to mention how beautiful the glossy red finish is! They sound great, much better than the Apple mini pods I was using with my Apple TV. The voices are so much clearer now! And I love having a remote! No regrets with THIS purchase!

I previously had a 10 year old Marshall bluetooth speaker with RCA inputs that I was using on my turntable that I've had for a while. I'm currently in the process of updating my setup and wanted to start with the speakers. I did quite some research on what would to buy and these came up over and over again. I really liked the idea of being able to control the volume via a remote and adjust the treble and bass (which were options I had on my Marshall that I didn't want to lose). These are excellent. The setup was fairly easy. I had a low hum coming from my turntable but it turns out that it was coming from the RCA extender I was using on my turntable. Once I plugged my turntable directly into the speaker it went away. The sound is crisp, it loud enough and as someone who primarily has R&B, hip-hop and reggae vinyls the audio quality is definitely STEPS above what I was experiencing before! Definitely would recommend getting these. They do recommend placing these on a stand so I bought the Kanto S6 titled stands for these since I didn't want them to take up too much space.

they sound decent, but not great.
Better bass can be had from the 50$ soundcore portable bluetooth speaker
auto shutoff can’t be disabled and it breaks my train of thought every time I have to turn them on when I need sound. I didn’t notice that much at first but now I want to throw them out the window every time (10+/day) I have to stop when I do anything with sound, realize it is these ^%$#^%$#ing speakers, find the remote, hit the power button, and wait for them to come on, and then resume playing music or whatever.

I would return them if I still could.

I’m guessing many of you are looking around for speakers to go with a turntable, or like me, something for my desktop computer. I was a fairly active audiophile for quite a while and wanted to provide some real-world comparisons to a couple of what I believe are contenders in this range of speaker. I had an extended listening session today between The PeachTree M24’s (yes I know it is smaller), the Klipsch R-51PM, and the YU6. The first thing I noticed is the soundstage on the YU6 really beat everything else in terms of width and height. I did not have to toe the speakers in like I did with the other two. The tweeter puts out an aggressive sound compared to the same size tweeter on the Peachtree. The Peachtree is a little more balanced in that regard. The Klipsch are pretty much right in your face with what I would call a fatiguing treble. As I moved to the midrange, I was really surprised by a couple of things. The YU6 tended to put midrange things farther back in the soundstage, so it was not as pronounced as what I’m used to with the Peachtrees. I lost some of the detail out of instruments unless it strayed up into treble where it gained more detail than the Peachtrees. Klipsch had a very flat soundstage to me except the tweeter was really out in front of the soundstage. On to the mid-bass / bass. The YU6 has some funky mid-bass resonance that muddies it a bit. The bass can be a little more “boomy” than the Peachtrees I’m assuming because of the cabinet size difference. The Klipsch was definitely the most “boomy” and had even more resonance in the mid-bass, so I dismissed the Klipsch from the session. So, between the M24’s and the YU6, here are my conclusions. Keep in mind I’m about 4-5 feet from the speakers.

    1. Midrange is a little recessed on the YU6. I like the Peachtree better there.
    2. I get a lot more detail from the treble / tweeter on the YU6 without it being fatiguing.
    3. The YU6 kills the M24 on soundstage in all directions and the change of what you hear is not as drastic when you move closer or farther away
    4. The M24 had tighter bass to me but again, that may be because of the smaller cabinet and woofer.
    5. The sub out works great on both – I have two 12” Bic F-12’s and they work great with both speakers although I’d say the F12’s are definitely a better HT subwoofer than a musical one.
    6. Build quality on both are outstanding.
    7. I like the larger sound and soundstage from the YU6 compared to the M24.

I’m going to keep the YU6 on the desktop for now and let them break in well. I have the Peachtree M25’s coming so that will be a more fair comparison but I’m really curious if the M25’s can match the soundstage. And room filling capabilities of the YU6.

Hope this helps someone that may be comparing these two speakers like I was. The YU 6 could be a really great speaker if they could knock out some of that cabinet resonance and push the mids a bit farther forward in the soundstage, but I rate these a solid 4/5.

Thought I'd add to this a bit. I stepped back from a long listening session yesterday and thought about the things I heard on each speaker. I ended up putting the M24's back on my desktop. The thing that bugged me most about the Kanto was the cabinet resonance. It's just not there with the M24's. I still like the width, depth, and height of the soundstage with the Kanto but I'd say the Peachtree M24's are a more lively and balanced speaker. Another thing I noticed is that the sub out on the M24's drives the subs hotter, which I like because I can turn down the actual sub volume a bit. The M25's and now the YU4 from Kanto is on the way, so it should be fun to compare all of those.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Can Use Your Dad's Old Turntable With These Speakers

Ok, so I was in the market for a new set up but wanted this one to fit in with my decor which is vintage hipster. Something that I could have in the background projecting all the vinyl goodness from its tweeters for the listening pleasure of my weekend late afternoon patio parties. I've been trying to think of something to say to talk about the color but I will leave that to rock icon Nigel Tufnel who said“There's something about this that's so black, it's like how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.” though you could also get them in different colors but then I wouldn't be able to use that quote.

Setup was easier than getting my labrador to eat the the last of my submarine sandwich. As these speakers have their own phono amplifier, the RCA wires from you manual analog turntable slip easily in their red and white receptacles on back of one of these bad boys. There are speaker terminals to connect the two speakers and give you discreet lush sound. It looks great in your vintage set up and for you young folks living in a small place, it's space saving since you lose the need for a bulky amplifier clutter up the very particular Dutch aesthetic of your listening area.

What more is there to say but they are well constructed, look fantastic, are space saving, give good bang for their buck and can fit into wherever you choose to listen to your record player. These would be perfect for the kids in dorms who want to impress their girlfriends with their small but "elite" collection of essential artists. Then you grandly move on to show the true centrepiece of the setup, the turntable which you have carefully curated from hours of searching junk shops and good will stores to find the ":best deal ever". You will have this turntable until you get your first job out of school and then you will upgrade to a ridiculously overpriced top of the line beauty that you will play "Tender" by Blur on when trying to seduce a young lady in your building. The point is, these speakers will be the same as you go from girlfriend to girlfriend (or either gender combination you like), and turntable to the latest, greatest and most importantly coolest, speakers. They are built to last and you will remember them many years later when you try looking for the same kind of speakers because you NEEDED to have that vintage Marantz tube receiver to hear music at it's purest and why not get vintage speakers now since these poor speakers, that has served you a decade, are being thrown away for the latest toy. Shame on you. Anyway, I don't see any reason why it would fall apart unless you plan on bringing them camping and then I would say your experience may differ from mine. They'll probably last you years giving you great sound and looking sleek on the bookshelf.
You may have nieces come over to give your brother and his wife a break for the weekend and she may want to play something on her iPhone and she can easily connect her phone to the speakers via Bluetooth and she can control the sound with the remote control that comes with the speakers. Should you want to hook up a subwoofer, it has output for it as well as other inputs such as Aux, Optical & a handing USB charging port for your iPhone making the top of the speakers a convenient location to store it. Ah, the possibilities for pictures of your phone, speakers and iPhone on social media with some deep comment about technology from different millennia working together.
I'm not doing any of that though. You can but it does fit into my mid century modern decor and compliments my funky Pro-Ject elemental (review coming soon) with a nice clean honest sound. I love the fact that I didn't have to get a new receiver as that Marantz was looking nice and the modern touches of Bluetooth and a remote control are quite excellent. I don't know of any apps. They may have one, but I haven't looked so not quite sure how you would go about controlling the volume if you lose the remote or it breaks or you labrador puppy chews on it. That could be a problem later on and I should probably look into it. Still, I treat my audio equipment as that equipment that your cool uncle had and weren't allowed near when you visited your cousin on the weekend, then warned the whole time about how serious they were about not going near my uncle's turntable. So, I'm not dropping it anytime soon and I still have the original packaging to transfer them securely if they have to be moved again

The TL/DR of that ridiculous wall of text are that these are great speakers., Get them for anyone interested in getting into turntables and vinyl records so they don't have to have the added cost of a phono pre-amp or receiver/amplifier with pre-amp. Not only does it save cost, it saves space and it gives great sound for their size and their cost and the added convenience of having Bluetooth connectivity to play audio from your phone, Has a basic remote but it does what it should and big problem is I'm not aware of how to control volume without the remote playing a turntable. Could be, I'm not aware though. Very happy purchase.
