By far Jane's Addiction's best album, Ritual De Lo Habitual is chock full of songs that are both catchy and experimental. The singles "Stop" and "Been Caught Stealing" are good examples; "No One's Leaving" has a nice funk edge with some busy guitar work, and "Ain't No Right" and "Obvious" are strong as well. Unfortunately, "Three Days" and "Then She Did . . ." are overlong and get bogged down well short of halfway through, but the album finishes strongly with "Of Course" and "Classic Girl". Jane's Addiction's funk-punk-rock mix is appealing, and never more so than on this album. --Genevieve Williams

Another great album by Jane's Addiction. At a time when bands like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains were on the rise, Jane's Addiction was creating deep introspective tunes but with a dose of the fun that rock n roll was abandoning in favor of self loathing. Unfortunately they don't get the clout those other bands have received over the years. Most definitely more intellectual and art inspired than many of their contemporaries, they created music that would go on to live in legend. Many reviewers are making comparisons to Nothings Shocking. This album is its own beast. They are both great in their own way. If you are on the fence about Jane's Addiction, take the plunge! You will most definitely get a lot of replay out of their albums.

I purchased a used cd, however the CD I received seemed better. Would not have known it was used :-)

When this album was released, the original cover was found by someone to be offensive. The album was re-released like two weeks later with the 1st amendment on the cover. Originally this was how the album was supposed to look from there. It turns out that the original cover is the more common one and that now this is the collectors item, or rare one. I have both, but I found it amazing that I was able to buy this one 20 years after the fact. I ran out and bought the original one thinking it would be the collectors. Irony, huh?! Oh yeah, and this album rocks. They are an epic band and this release is full of their energy. Cheers, Perry. well played out, sir!

For Alternative Rock this album is the essence of cool. I can Definitely listen to it all the way through every time and you will too after a few listens. Once you really get a grip on the lyrics and the style of singing the whole theme comes together and story of the album takes you over. Right up there with Siamese dream and Superunknown and Ten for greatest of the Mainstream Alt Rock albums, I'm not even gonna go into the Melvins, that's a whole nother can o' worms. Don't forget that name though especially if your new to this stuff. Check out this album it will rock your car system for weeks!

every track on this album is at worst very decent... but when the good song kick in, you'll see why it's a masterpiece of psychedelic funk metal... wish i had more exposure to the band when i was younger! Anyway, if you dabble in substances of any kind, i think this album will have even more meaning and context, thanks for reading!!

I bought this for my boyfriend Merlin as it was the sound of my teenage years. We both think it sounds wonderful! My favourite side is Three Days / Then She Did.
