One test is taken from the water before filter, another - after the filter. Can you tell which is which? I can't either. But it looks really nice. Just don't test it.The test I used was https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R3EQ84S from the company who is in this business for decades and only does test equipment and chemicals.

Unfortunately this product does not work as intended. Although KDF (the filter ingredient) does indeed remove chlorine, the flow rate of a common shower is simply too high for this device. This would only work for very low, almost dripping, flow rates. I ran multiple chlorine tests to confirm this. The search for a great shower filter that removes chlorine effectively continues…

This filter did work well on my rv shower. The campground water is hard with a lot of chlorine and it did help with those. However, after only 3 weeks the water preessure dropped to almost nothing and I had to remove it. I bought 2 and the return window has closed for the unused one, unfortunately

It's badly designed product unless I got a defective piece. It doesn't matter how tight you screw the filer on the pipe, it just points down , may be due to weight or bad design. It's kind of useless if you going to use it for shower. Never seen any shower filter with that kind of issue.

UPDATE: OK, it was leaking because the original filter was damaged in the process of removing it from the casing. I don't know how I could have avoided this problem - it was airtight and the only way to get it to give any friction up was by clasping the edge with needlenose pliers and rocking it back and forth, which destroyed the fit of the "lip" of the filter. Putting in a new filter fixed the problem - it still leaks a tiny bit from the showerhead itself but that is not noticeable, I just am in hawk mode. I retract my original rating because this DOES WORK - my hair is already xxxx100000 better after one month of using this and L'oreal Metal Detox shampoo. I tried the shampoo without the filter and it didn't work as well; same as the filter without the shampoo, so if you live in a rural area and have well water, I think this is your solution.
Just try to get someone who is able to remove the original filter smoothly - or accept that the first filter is a "sacrifice" and you'll need to buy a second one with that purchase. I see from the other reviews I'm not the only one to have had this problem, so hopefully Philips will see this and eventually fix that part.

The case arrives with the filter already installed tightly, BUT, you have to remove it so you can remove two small lids that cover the in and out holes. This process took about two hours, four different tools and finally a vise grip that my neighbour had to clamp down to keep still, and FINALLY we got the filter out, removed the lids, and popped it back in. And now....it leaks like a waterfall. No matter how much plumber's tape we've added, how many times we've seated and reseated that f***ng filter, the minute you turn the shower on it sprays everywhere from the area where the silver case snaps together.
Either the filter was damaged in removal from the unit or the seal that you get from the factory is impossible to attain in the homeowner's non-professional environment.
I don't know. I have ordered a filter and I'm going to try one last time with a totally un-touched filter to get this thing to work and stop leaking but I do not have high hopes.
The "chrome" is just plastic painted chrome btw. None of the pieces are actually metal.
If the second filter fixes the leaking, I'll edit this.
But having the filter ship tightly in the unit would work fine if it didn't have those ridiculous end caps. The filter has a metal mesh interior - there is no risk of anything falling out in transit.

Wir hatten immer das Problem, dass wir immer verkalkte Duschbrausen hatten, welche wir 1 mal wöchentlich entkalken mussten (keine Übertreibung). Daher habe ich lange nach Wasserenthärter bzw. Anti Kalk Systemen gesucht und wurde bei Philips Water fündig.

Der Filter ist kleiner als eine 0,5L PET Flasche und hat einen flexiblem Schraubkopf der an jede Armatur passt. Installation sehr einfach, aber dennoch die Beschreibung lesen da man etwas beachten soll wenn man länger mal weg ist. Unten, also wo der Schlauch hinkommt, muss man nur den passenden Schraubkopf haben mit einem größeren Kopfstück (so ca. 2-3cm) da sonst kein 100%iger Halt garantiert ist. (ERFAHRUNG)

Seit jeher habe ich 0 Probleme mit Kalk im Wasser und das Duschen ist wieder viel angenehmer wie zuvor.
Klare Kaufempfehlung von mir, wenn man einen günstigen Wasserenthärter benötigt.
