On a Sony Bravia Android using the ARC HDMI connection... initially, the only problem was operation. I was hoping to be able to set the TV volume at a fixed level (say 30 units) then adjust the Sound Bar volume as required. What happens is that when the Sound Bar volume is adjusted, it simultaneously changes the TV volume. I was hoping for an amplifier, but what I got was a repeater. I could live with that. It's un-plugged now because 1.) after a week or so, whenever the TV was turned ON, there would be NO sound from ANY source. At first, I had to go into "settings" and reboot the TV manually. 2.) As time went by, the TV would reboot automatically EVERY time it was turned on. 3.) The TV kept losing the wireless Wi-Fi and it had to be manually re-established, including password, every day. 4.) When the sound bar worked, there would be a random loud SCREECH when commercials came on, I believe due to the broadcast volume level differences between program and some commercials. The sound bar didn't handle these volume level differences very well. Finally, I had to take a business trip, so to keep my wife from experiencing no sound, reboots and screeches, I disconnected the HDMI cable, the TV reverted to internal speakers, and all is OK now. I'll play with it some more but I shouldn't have to, considering both the sound bar and TV are Sony products..
