(Original Review). When we received this at first, we thought it would give a better sound given its weight. After it was hooked up to the TV, it was very disappointing. Not enough bass and depth. We'll see how long it lasts.
(Update): We are happy to report that we received the updated version to this sound bar (the one with the sub woofer), and it is really a difference of night and day. The depth of sound is great this time, and the overall sound quality is much improved. We highly recommend the updated soundbar. The overall quality and durability of the materials used cannot be confirmed as yet as we are still in the first week of receiving the updated version of the S100. By the way, the backlight is a really nice touch and a compliment to any living room's decor.

Great soundbar but no BT for TCL Roku TV
Love the size and the sound, just wanted to hook up using BT but doesn’t support it. So hooked up using the Optical cable and works great. Now I use the BT to hook into my iPhone and IPad so worked out perfectly fine. I recommend this small but powerful soundbar to anyone looking for great bass and overall sound.

The sound bar arrives in a medium sized cardboard box. The sound bar itself is fairly small and light but the subwoofer has some decent weight to it. You also get the power cable, an optical audio cable (great value), and a remote control. It's worth noting that the remote does not come with batteries, so you'll need two AAA batteries. If you don't have any on hand, you can still operate the sound bar using the buttons on the side.
When running, the sound bar shows its settings in white on the face. You have a variety of adjustments to work with including 3 different equalizer settings and bass control. For sound experts this may not be enough control, but I'm not an audiophile so for me it's all I need. There's also multicolored LED lighting at the back of the unit for atmosphere, but you can turn this off at any time. I got it working on my TV using the optical cable and I also tried playing music on it from my phone using bluetooth and both worked very well.
The only downside to this package is that the power cord is really short. This works fine if you're just using the unit for music and set it up near a power plug. But, in my case, I wanted to set it up on the top of the wall unit above my TV. With the short cord, this was impossible and I had to place it at the back of the unit and way off center. This won't be a big problem for some people, but if the cord being only 5 feet will give you problems it's something to think about.
Overall, the sound bar works really well and sounds great. Since that's ultimately what matters, I still gave it a full rating because you really do get a lot for such a small package. If you're looking for a 2.1CH sound bar, I can definitely recommend this one!

This is a great sound bar. I have a more expensive one that I use for my home theater TV. I use this one for my workstation and it gives my bigger one a run for its money.
I've only tried this one in Bluetooth mode, but you can connect an audio source via optical or the provided audio cable. There is a USB port but it is only for attaching a USB stick to and playing mp3s from. I did not try that.
It's very easy to set up - the instructions are clear and provide links to videos. The sound bar itself connects to subwoofer and power. The subwoofer does not have its own power which saves you from having to run yet another cord.
All of the controls are via a pad on one end of the sound bar, but I just use the remote anyway. One nice feature I found is that you can turn the front display off without turning the entire unit off so you aren't shining extra light in your face while watching a movie.
The audio of course has its limits, and there are 3 EQ settings you can use. Music, Movie, News. I wish it had more but for the price it's acceptable. Each mode does sound quite different from the other.
The subwoofer is decent. You can adjust it from +3 to -3. I have it set to +3 and while it's clearly there and doing a good job, it's not going to shake the earth. Again, if you're just using this for a computer setup or a bedroom TV, this is more than good enough.
The LED features are pretty neat. You can make it show a solid colour of your choosing or it can sync up with the music you're listening to. It works well and reminds me of the old 'colour organs' we used to make in electricity class.
The sound bar itself is heavy enough to sit where you put it and not move anywhere. It's fairly compact and really is just a great all around unit for a bedroom tv or a computer.
