With this USBC slot reader, I can send 10GB files way faster than I could with the USB 3.0 that I was using before. Definitely a must have for and media user who has thunderbolt capabilities for their laptop. Also love how small it is and durable. I can throw it into any bag and don’t have to worry about the ends snapping like some other “harder” slot card readers

    The form factor is nice and it works with my 2016 MacBook Pro with touch bar no problem.

    However, I noticed that I was getting an average transfer speed of around 85MBps on my various "pro" level cards. Cards rated at 95MBps and even 300MBps were still only reading at 85MBps. After contacting support I was informed this reader, while USB-C, still only operates at a Max of 100MBps (giving an average benchmark via Black Magic of around 85MBps).

    While I'm disappointed I couldn't fine the max transfer speed in the spec sheet, it is a nice form factor and well made for the price. If you use consumer grade memory cards, or just don't care about the limited read speed, it's a great buy.

    For me though, it loses a star for the limitation, and another for not telling me about the limitation prior to purchase on it's website or here on Amazon.

    Works well enough for transmitting data on a memory card to usb-c device (laptop in my case). Unfortunately, I'm only able to use 1 card slot at time (CF or SD) when importing. If I insert more than one card into the reader at a time (e.g. 1 CF and 1 SD), it will eject both of them immediately. This is really unfortunate, as I like this reader otherwise. I often work with several extremely large memory cards, so having to wait until one card is completely done before moving on to the next one can add quite a bit of time to my import process at the end of an already long work day (unless I want to purchase more card reader (hint, I don't)).

    Product is junk. Maybe I received a defective unit but it doesn't form a solid connection with the port on my computer and a slight touch to the laptop can cause the unit to disconnect. This has been an issue since I received the product 2 months ago. After just over a month of use, and consequently immediately outside the return window, a single pin inside the adapter bent so I am unable to plug cards in anymore.. Immensely disappointed in this product which I purchased on recommendation of The WIrecutter.
