Ok, I love the Office. But things are starting to get a bit repetitive. Michael's a loveable idiot who means well, yada yada...

Meanwhile, over on 30 Rock, Alec Baldwin is displaying the comic brilliance that Steve Carrell flaunted in season 2 of the office. I mean, I can't look at Alec without laughing. I always new he had it in him, based on prior SNL work and some movies, but the combination of writing and the role he's playing...it's just unbelievable and he should get an emmy for sure.

Tina is also great, of course, big fan there.

Tracy Morgan...who knew he could be funny? He was a real let down on SNL...I just assumed he had some dirt on Lorne. But on this show he shines. The role is perfect for him. And again the writing is great.

The rest of the ensemble does a great job as well. This show, along with the office, are two of the funniest shows to be on tv in years. Highly recommended to anybody that likes to laugh.

This show is amazing! The humor is five stars. It has humor at all different levels and different types so there is something for everyone to catch and have a laugh at. I'll catch an obscure reference to the "Moscow Cat Circus" (which I actually saw and thus spit my soda out laughing at!), my husband will laugh at some Star Wars type joke that I'll need explained to me, and we'll both be in stitches over just about everything else.

Tina Fey is brilliant and multi-talented. Can't get enough of her. Add to that Tracy Morgan and Alec Baldwin, plus the other goofy characters that work at 30 Rock and you have a recipe for success.

Unfortunately, 30 Rock aired last season at a time that I had to record it to watch it, so I missed a bunch of episodes. I'm pre-ordering the DVD and cannot wait for Season 2.

This show only got better and better after a shaky start, incl. tepid reviews of Tina Fey's acting. But she found her feet and the ensemble cast (including Alec Baldwin - who knew he could play funny?, Tracy Morgan - finally breaking out from SNL second-string status to be a real standout, and Jack McBrayer - the real sleeper of the bunch, as Kenneth, the NBC page), and the show's writers, made for one very smart, funny season.

I have to question, though, why this is going to be priced so high? Is NBC trying to make up for lost ad revenue from its year in the ratings cellar at the expense of the loyal viewers it had? Too bad - I'll have to wait for the price to come down, but at least this show will be worth the wait.

When this show appeared on TV 5 years ago, I didn't like it because Tracy Morgan annoyed me, so I never gave it a chance. Also, I hate TV because of all the interruptions and commercials. So if I watch a TV series, it's generally on DVD.

One day I was watching pay per view on my cable provider and a few free episodes of 30 Rock were available. I figured why not, I'll watch it again. INSTANT LIFELONG FAN!!!!

Alec Baldwin is comic genius, Tina Fey is total babe and hysterical, in fact, every single character on this show is genius. It's just fabulous. It's like a five pound bag of M&Ms that you don't get fat from eating.

You'll love it!

30 Rock has not been shown on Australian TV and having heard so much about it, I had to purchase the DVD of the first season. I could not stop watching until it came to an end. The show is not as hilarious as it is made out to be, but the subtle humour and send up of the GE/NBC relationship is classic and a must for media observers and comedy lovers. Tina Fey is brilliant, but I would expect her writing in the 2nd season to beef up a bit, Alec Baldwin - fabulous. I loved this DVD and for non-US citizens, if it is not shown in your country, buy the DVD. I loved it.

I had seen a few episodes of 30 Rock re-runs and really enjoyed them enough to order the first 3 seasons. Will probably be ordering the remaining seasons. 30 Rock is an over the top farce interlaced with current events (then current) that pokes fun at the TV industry as well as politics and society in general. Fey and Baldwin are so funny together - it feels like they've known each other for years. Tracy Morgan is outragously crazy funny. The others are great as well - great cast and writing.

My comment is about the pricing of a full season when you have already watched a few episodes. I watched pilot and episode 1 and paid $4 for them. Then I decided to watch the whole season thinking that I would get credit for the two I already paid for like Apple iTunes does (complete this album), but I was charged the full $30 for the season. I'm not asking for my money back and the pricing didn't say I would get credit but it seems like common sense and a very good way to encourage people to sample and then BUY MORE, just like the free samples in Kindle. I'm just surprised that as smart as the marketing people at Amazon Direct are they haven't thought of this.

I'm sure I'll enjoy 30 Rock (sorry for the low rating Lemon, it's not you, it's Amazon), but I wanted to put this out there.

I am not that into American comedies nowadays. My husband tried to make me watch "arrested development", "The simpsons", etc. But I just can't make myself like them. They ARE funny shows, don't get me wrong. But I just can't watch a show while not liking any of the characters in them. To me it's like that hollywood is trying to promote the "mean" as if it's the new "cool".

"30 Rock" proved that we CAN make a real comedy without making it mean or evil!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Der Beginn einer wundervollen Serie!
Reviewed in Germany on October 18, 2011

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything 'Studio 60...' wasn't!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 13, 2008
I've been trying to work up some kind of pun based around 60 and 30, but I've failed, so I'll just get back to the basics:
'30 Rock' episodes are half the length of 'Studio 60' episodes, but pack in at least twice as many laughs;
'30 Rock' episodes have more sympathetic and believable characters (even though they are, variously, neurotic, slobby, medicated, anal and boorish) than any of the West Coast navel gazers in 'Studio 60';
'30 Rock' doesn't try to moralize about (... ooh, let's pick a subject...) Iraq - it aims for your funny bone and hits at least 75% of the time, and that's a quite amazing hit rate.
'30 Rock' is the creation of Tina Fey (who I may just be falling in love with).
OK, that last one was a bit spurious; the cast is packed with great performances (Alec Baldwin's just being the most obviously award-worthy), especially Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer and Fey herself.
We're in a bit of a golden age of US TV comedy at the moment - have been for a while, actually - but '30 Rock' is already close to the top of the pile after only one season. Get on board now!
