Rescued from Satan: 14 People Recount their Journey from Demonic Possession to Liberation Kindle Edition
In this book, the very people who suffered the indescribable tell the true story of their trials in which tragedy turns to victory, thanks to the help of a humble and generous Franciscan exorcist.
Beginning with an exegesis of Christ's exorcism narratives in the Gospel of Mark, we then come to the main body of the book: 14 people give their testimony of diabolical possession.
Finally, Friar Benigno, the exorcist who helped bring these suffering souls to deliverance gives us a manual of spiritual combat to overcome the influence of the Evil One in our lives.

I was not only surprised at the sobriety and depth of the content, the book also filled me with renewed trust and confidence in our Lord. The devil is real and the things recounted in this singular book actually happened, but what was most impressive was how devil’s efforts were turned in their head and ended up working towards the afflicted people’s spiritual growth as they learned to be docile to Christ.
If you think you have problems and difficulties, read this book and you’ll see people who have suffered so much more, yet came out victorious.
As a faithful Catholic, I found these stories of relief from demonic possession to be beautiful and affirming. Not to be presumptuous, but this would not be something to read if you've dabbled in the occult or have messed around seeking the preturnatural. Inviting the evil one---whether expressly in words, or in one's actions/activities---is spiritually very dangerous. It is very useful to know how the enemy gained access to these poor, afflicted souls. And it is very comforting to know how---through the proper instruments of God's Peace (his priests)---these people regained their spiritual freedom. Again, for the faithful this is all very affirming.
But...
This is, after all, a translation. So there are a small number of syntax and spelling errors that were enough for even a blockhead like me to notice.
I've read a couple of this author's books previously, and his writing style is typically pretty meticulous. Again, I'm assuming that many of these errors were some level of "lost in translation".
This is a very quick read. For those who wish to understand the exorcism process (which differs greatly from Hollywood depictions, btw) and the grace and peace it brings, this is so helpful. I highly recommend this book and look forward to Ermatinger's future offerings.
I'm sorry, but if you are an exorcist who has by grace of ministry a direct perspective into the realities of the Mystery of Iniquity and you aren't willing to grapple with the matter as it pertains to present-day leadership in the Church, you have written a book for another age, not our own.
