I was a little hesitant to purchase this protection plan for a $200 set of Crystal Singing Bowls but after reading the terms and having had one bowl shatter randomly while playing in the past, I figured it was a good idea.

And it was! While playing one of the bowls in the set of 3, almost 2 years after purchase, it again randomly cracked and shattered into pieces.

I remembered my insurance and went through the easy process to file a claim. Asurion accepted my claim the same day and sent me a UPS label via email.

I was a bit confused if I should send all the bowls back or just the broken one but when I saw the FULL refund I figured I should just get a whole new set since each bowl in the set is acoustically matched by tone.

I had actually already thrown away the broken bowl since it was just a bunch of fractured pieces of glass which was dangerous to keep around. Since the company usually covers electronics it was unclear what to include in the return package so I just sent everything I had back.

The hardest part of the process was finding a box large enough to ship the singing bowls and their carrying case back. Luckily me neighbor was recycling a large box, so I taped the label on, took it to UPS and received my Amazon Gift card with the full refund amount via email literally the next day!

Very pleased and will likely purchase a protection plan again!

I purchased a musical instrument wherein keys are subject to break (chromatic harmonica) which can be repaired for $20 to $35 dollars. However, the insurance does not cover the only working parts, they say it’s an uninsurable issue. Surely, they know their policy is flawed and that they are selling insurance on a technically uninsurable item according to them. I paid $30.73 for the insurance for 3 years coverage, they offered to return $4 dollars - after stating it was not insurable! classic rip-off!
