Extended Warranty fo Go Pro Hero 10 paid off, just bought one for GoPro Hero 11
I really like the idea of extending the warranty of my electronics and this time it paid off. After having my GoPro Hero 10 fail, Asurion paid the claim after just a week. I used the Amazon gift card to replace it with a Hero 11 and of course another extended warranty as well.
I was happy with the turnaround on the repair. Took 5 days, from the day I sent mailed it in, to the day it was returned. (Oculus controller) It was repaired correctly, no fuss, no muss. : )
My child accidentally fell on a brand new meta quest 2 controller, breaking it. After well over four weeks of back-and-forth to get the controller replaced, and money out of pocket to ship controllers back-and-forth, I ended up with TWO roughly used old controllers that are in worse condition than the ones I sent to Asurion. We received one with a broken wrist band on top of it being in poor shape. I had just purchased this system in December so everything had been brand new, but we received used rollers as replacements. Do not bother with this service it is not worth the money and headache.
This added peace of mind does not function in every case. In this particular case I purchased a car stereo to be covered and when I made a claim Asurion required me to first uninstall and ship the defective unit before they would honor it, then placed a hold once shipped with their own ups label for refund to appear. Meanwhile my vehicle’s dash where car stereo was in is gutted out waiting for a replacement I had to buy without credit waiting for replacement to arrive at my cost and inconvenience. All in all still a reliable added protection, they came through despite the hiccups during the claim process, so 4 stars instead of 5
I had a sound bar go out on me and within days of receiving my sound bar back, asurion immediately refunded what I had paid for it. Definitely always take out the warranty cause you just never know and dealing with them was so very easy
