Charles was the founding Theology teacher of Christ the King Catholic High School in Huntersville, NC and was a Theology teacher there for ten years. In addition, he has taught nearly every grade level, from second grade to adult, including on the college and Diocesan levels. He spent three semesters in seminary with the Diocese of Raleigh at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Pennsylvania. This completed a nine-year discernment of the priesthood and religious life after which he discerned that Our Lord was not calling him to the priesthood.

He has a Master of Arts in Theology from the Christendom College Graduate School, as well as an Advanced Apostolic Catechetical Diploma. His enjoyment of writing began over twenty years ago, and finally culminated in his first completed book, Come Away By Yourselves, a guide to prayer for busy Catholics. In addition to this, he has been working on books related to various aspects of the Catholic Faith, and to the powerful story of his return to the Catholic Faith after a time struggling with illness and depression.

His major work is currently Slaying Dragons: What Exorcists See & What We Should Know, a very popular book being sold internationally in three languages, despite the fact that it is self-published. Available on Amazon and on www.SlayingDragonsPress.com.

He also wrote a popular spiritual warfare manual for youth, young adults, and their parents, called Swords and Shadows: Navigating Youth Amidst the Wiles of Satan. Available on Amazon and on www.SlayingDragonsPress.com.

I just finished this book and I have to say it was hard to put down! Charles Fraune is the new go-to expert in this realm of exorcisms and how it practically affects us. He has compiled all the big names in this area and synthesized it down to an easily digestible read. I really appreciated how he had the simple take-home points at the end of each chapter too!Having been to seminary myself and studied extensively in this area, I can say that this will also satisfy the most astute readers in search of the hidden tactics and motivations of the devil and his cohort demons. He exposes their weak spots and helps us to defend against their attacks. Thank you Jesus for the Church, Our Lady, and these heroic priests fighting for Your kingdom! We know the ultimate victory goes to you, and thus we are fortified in hopeful joy! Read this book to help put on the armor of Christ and discover the Truth! The battle is real!

I thought this was very well written. The author has done a thorough job of researching the topic and incorporates information from the top exorcists in the world. The information is consistent with other Catholic teachings on the subject. Personally, I believe this should be mandatory reading for every single Catholic; especially those in Catholic schools. It's a fast read, professionally written, and excellent information. The thing I liked most, was the amount of research. We benefit by having the author include information regarding the historical aspect of evil, the biblical validation of the information, and finally the practical validation of the information (via the data from the top exorcists in the world). A well structured, well written, and powerful testament to the reality of evil that is active in our world. I do not know the author nor have any vested interest in this book. I came across it online, ordered it, and was thoroughly impressed by it's message and information. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to understand how and why evil works.

I decided to get both "Slaying Dragons" and also "Hauntings, Possessions, and Exorcisms" by Adam Blai. Both were good, but if you were to buy just one as a lay person, I recommend "Slaying Dragons". This book has a good breakdown of the areas to be focused on, and good advise for utilizing sacramentals, prayers, and house blessings. It is clearly written, and it will, by the time you are done it, have you looking at the world, and the spiritual battle we are all in, but hadn't recognized, in a new way. Although a serious topic that can seem scary, emphasis in the book is often given that God is in control, and Jesus has already won. Our job is to accept His redemption for us, and walk closely with Him. To go along with this, I also recommend the book "Deliverance Prayers for use by the Laity" by Fr. Chad Ripperger, which has some good prayers for daily life.

This is just an excellent book about how demons can get into our lives and what we can do to keep them out or get them out. We have a number of nieces and nephews getting married now and at their 6 month anniversary I'm going to send them this book along with Father Rippergers, "Deliverance Prayers for Use by the Laity."

The father's role in the family is critical to keeping the family safe and protected. With the divorce rate so high these young couples need to understand that wether they like it or not, whether they choose to recognize it or not they will be engaging in spiritual warfare. This book and Father Ripperger's book along with living a devot Catholic life will help them win the battle. May God bless Charles for writing this for us. I hope he goes through with about writing one on fathers and fatherhood.

The accusation that this book is creepy is totally false. While there's no way to describe the evil beings and evil doings of demons in cutesy, pretty and sentimentally lovable ways (that woud be a total lie), Mr. Fraune does a masterful job at DESCRIBING but NOT EMPHASIZING the uglier parts about demonology. He utilizes the help of 12 (TWELVE) Catholic exorcists and experts, several Church Fathers and Saints, all very mature and never sensationalists. Even though I've read books of this type before through many years, this is the absolute best and most practical.

It gives us peace and hope in God's Protection and Mercy, and points out some very important points that inspire holy security and God-based confidence, like the fact that, because of the loss of heavenly grace, our personal Guardian Angels are more powerful than any demon, including Satan himself (pg. 8 pp. 2)!! (That, of course, should never move us to focus exaggeratedly on them or worship them).

This book is full of encouragement at the same time that it clearly shows that demons are not fantasies invented to scare children or adults into behaving, but awful and very dangerous realities that we must fight against every day, and that fight using the resources provided by God in His Church, does not make us creeped out individuals but live in victory, love, peace and joy invincible!!

This is a fairly brief summary of the teachings of current exorcists within the Catholic Church on demonic possession, supplemented with some lengthy quotations of several saints. Most of the information from the exorcists are from video presentations available on the internet.

Quite informative, but the author could have done a bit better job of supporting his argument that J.K. Rowling wrote the Harry Potter novels (and Hollywood is infested with people) under the sway of the Satanic.

That being said, the book is full of information on how to safe-guard yourself and family from demonic influences. If you don't believe that demonic forces exist, look around you and sincerely ask if what you see in the world is "normal." I recently heard a Catholic priest flat-out declare that "Satan is unchained" and this was not some old guy, but a convert in his late 30s that did not have a completely sheltered past.

This is an excellent book. The author’s style is engaging; and the material is presented in a lucid, straightforward and theologically thorough manner.
I would urge any serious Christian to read it. It is inspiring and provides hope and courage to fight the good fight .

I’ve read many books in this category and I would say this is easily one of the, if not, the best, for the average lay person. Highly recommended.
