I cannot say enough about how much I love my Roomba. The old Roomba I had is on its final leg and it has the non rubber insides which caught a lot more things they shouldn’t and needed more cleaning. It has however lasted me 7+ years which is amazing.
I somehow love this roomba even more than the last! It doesn’t get my long hair and all my cats fur stuck like the old one. It has a more annoying dust bin to empty as it doesn’t click straight out but more to the side which I don't care for. It does pick up a LOT more dirt than the older model. I can run the old one then this one and it will pick up things like the other one didn’t event do anything.
I could go on and on, but ultimately, I have no clue how anyone with pets lives without a Roomba. I feel like I would be living in a fur castle without this product. I can confidently say my house will never be without a roomba!

A big disappointment
A robot that will clean my house? What a brilliant idea! I've wanted one of these for years, and finally decided to give myself a big Christmas gift of the Roomba i4 EVO. Sadly, it did not meet my expectations and I returned it yesterday.When it first arrived, I followed the directions and set the Roomba on a "map run" of the house; then I let it recharge and the next day set it to clean. It did a pretty decent job, though I was surprised at how often my phone alerted me that it had stopped due to a full bin that needed emptying.So that's my first point of dissatisfaction: the bin is tiny - smaller than on a friend's earlier model of Roomba - and needs frequent emptying (unless you spring for the base unit that claims to empty the unit automatically). I had thought I could leave Roomba to vacuum all the floors while I was out shopping or something, but no, this little guy needs attention every 15-20 minutes or so. Not good.After the first cleaning run, I was pretty happy with the job Roomba had done, especially with the way it was able to clean under the couch and beds. A week later, when I did a second run, I was much less satisfied. It skipped areas of the house, and there didn't seem to be a way to tell it to go back and do those areas that it missed (there were NO instructions included with my Roomba, and the instructions I found on the iRobot website seemed pretty light on details.)Third time I used the Roomba, things got weird. it would make little circles in one area that it had already cleaned and ignore nearby areas that it hadn't. Frustrating! Later I looked at the undercarriage and was shocked to see that 1) the axles of the wheels were all all twisted up in hair, and 2) two of the three brushes on the little whirling thing had broken off (see picture). Granted these problems are fixable: disentangle the hair, order replacement brushes. But after three uses it needed major maintenance? Sorry, I bought this thing to save housekeeping labor, not increase it.So, Roomba went back in the box and was shipped out yesterday. Another unpleasant surprise: I hadn't realized that I had gone through one of Amazon's third-party dealers (they don't exactly emphasize that, now do they?), so I had to pay $27 for the return shipping.And one final thought: dumping out the tiny bin so many times, I was able to get well acquainted with the typical contents. It looked more like dryer lint than what a normal vacuum cleaner pulls up. So that's my theory: Roomba isn't picking up household dirt so much as pulling lint out of the rugs. Not good for the rugs, and not needed for a clean house.

It mapped our upstairs pretty well. It took about 45 minutes to map a living room, kitchen and three bedrooms and hallway. And it’s really cool to be able to say “Alexa, ask Roomba to clean the kitchen… or Alexa, ask Roomba to clean the bedrooms” once you have favourites set for a room or combination of rooms. Of course you can have it clean everywhere all at once as well.
Noise level isn’t bad at all. It’s quieter than I expected after seeing reviews and videos of it. Much like my video it comes across on camera.
It’s stairs/cliff detection is really good. It gets right up to the edge and then stops. We haven’t had any issues with stairs yet. And the portable barrier thing it comes with that you can place anywhere stops it from going behind our couch and getting stuck.
Object detection works well, it navigates itself around tables, cat stands, and anything that’s been on our floor quite well.
We’re impressed.
