Exclusive Polk Power Port for Effortless Bass

Power Port is a Polk-patented design that smoothly transitions the air flow from the speaker's port into your listening area. It also extends the overall bass port, providing greater surface area to eliminate turbulence and distortion for louder, deeper, more musical bass impact. On average, Power Port provides 3dB louder bass output than conventional ported loudspeakers.

Built for Pure Sound

Gold-plated five-way binding posts ensure the most direct, efficient, and lossless connection possible. Strong, rigid and acoustically inert enclosure that reduces unwanted internal standing waves for less audible coloration. Non-resonant, critically damped Medite MDF construction ensures low distortion for a more lifelike sound. Plus, the ES20's anti-diffraction, magnetic grille minimizes sonic interference.

Five Decades of Speaker Engineering

The Signature Elite Series is the culmination of five decades of Polk's premium speaker engineering (Est. 1972) and were designed at our original facility outside of Baltimore, MD. We rely on our patented Dynamic Balance Array process to eliminate electro-acoustic and mechanical issues before they become a part of the finished speaker. We're so confident of this process, that we back the Signature Elite ES20 with a limited five-year to ensure you years of listening pleasure.

    Beautiful Desktops!
Had my eye on these for a long time. Had a pair of Polk rti4's for many years till I played them so loud one night I blew the voice coils. I replaced those with some Nuemi bs5's. For a little over a hundred dollars they are great speakers that punch well above their price. However when I finally caught these Polk es15's used/returned at a price direct from from the Amazon warehouse I couldn't ignore I took the chance. They are brand new though. Never been unboxed, I couldn't believe it. Even at full price they would be worth it. I listen to a lot of different genres of music, some on vinyl, some CD's, and digital copies/streaming. Everything sounds great. Clean, precise, full, and dynamic. Intrument seperation and stereo stage is very wide and detailed. Bass is well defined and tight. Mids are smooth and not too forward. Highs are clean and crisp without being sibilant or fatigueing. Cabinets are very well made and heavier than you would think. Very well built.

The reviews are so confusing because they are literally for different models in the lineup. Amazon please fix this.

ES20 Review: I live in a studio apartment in NYC so getting a 5.2 system was overkill by far. I bought these ES20 monitors to compliment a single ES60 in a bi-amp configuration. As standalone bookshelf speakers, these aren’t bad at all. The mods and highs are CRISP and CLEAN. As you can imaging the bass is not ground shaking but it is adequate. Where these monitors really shine is when I connect my ES60 giving me an immersive experience.

I ordered everything in white and omg they are a masterpiece. Zero regrets here except perhaps I could have gotten away with using the ES10’s as well

ES60: I’m operating a white single unit in a big amp configuration. One channel for the highs and another channel from the amp for the mids and lows. Much like my review above for the ES20, the 60 is crisp, clean and loud once powered up well. I initially had 80 watts going to the speaker but they seemed weak so now it’s 160 and perfect. Could probably be even better with more. More than adequate for an apartment. Again it’s not going to rattle your floors but damn this thing can get loud. I probably don’t need a separate subwoofer but that’s always an option if you really crave hair raising bass.

The Polk ES15 has very good to excellent soundstage & imaging. One of the best 5.25 driver speakers I have heard, in a very well-constructed cabinet with power-port technology. Very hard to beat at the lower price now offered. Had wanted ES20 but when I saw the dimensions knew it would be massively big at almost 14" deep - the ES15 at 10" deep fits much better on stands with less weight. Bass is substantial for bookshelf speakers, I would say the ES15 is more warm sounding than bright and can be enjoyed without sub for music. Magnet grills and nice walnut veneer finish, I would not hesitate to recommend. Been running them with a Class D TPA3255 and the match has been excellent. These also get loud without any clipping and are not hard to drive, correct sensitivity is 88db. Nice speaker that performs very well.

Bought the pair used “like new” and packaging and speakers were in perfect condition. I don’t know why anyone would return these. Close your eyes and you would think you are listening to towers. If you’re a bass nut you might want a subwoofer but the bass that these put out is incredible. They sound good at any level but they really want to be played loud. That’s when their clarity and sound stage pop. They look kick ass and they’re small enough to pass the wife test. I was on the fence til I saw the used but like new discount. If you can find the same deal I definitely recommend you go for it. Hope this helps.

EDIT 2/11/2023: Over had these several weeks now. I’ve listened to them dozens of hours to all types of music I like. (Dance, classical, folk, acoustic guitar, metal, classic rock) They sound great for all genres.

Occasionally, on bass-heavy dance music like Ace of Base, the bass is overwhelming with the tone controls set flat. In that case, I turn down the bass a bit and it’s perfect.

On the other hand, a lot of recordings (old classical, for example) have weak bass, and these speakers compensate for that without the need to boost bass. I agree with Polk’s claim that they have 3 dB louder bass because of the great port design. (Though I can’t confirm the exact amount, of course)

Most importantly is that the mids are faithful to the recordings now. (confirmed by comparison with good headphones listening) I love these speakers. They are an endgame purchase.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought a pair of S55s last year. They sounded good, with powerful bass, but the mids were always a bit weak. I compensated by dialing the bass and treble down to accentuate the mids; it helped, but not enough. It just gnawed at me. This year, I re-sold them at a huge loss and bought these.

There is a YT video from a guy sitting in a chair next to the S55 to the S60; listen to him. He's 100% right.

These ES60s are a 2.5-way design, which lets the top woofer handle the mids, while the bottom two are parallel to handle the bass.

I'm powering them from my Onkyo A-9050 integrated amplifier. (75 W/ch) If you're powering them from an A/V receiver, they may sound distorted. Trust me, that is the cheap amplifier, not the speakers. Even higher-end A/V receivers don't compete, clarity-wise, to a quality stereo integrated amp. (or separates)

The downward-firing port really opens up options for these speakers to be placed closer to the back wall in a smaller room. Compare this to most tower speakers with the rear-firing woofers that have to be 2-3' from the back wall not to sound too boomy. (not good booms!)
