The Exorcism Files: True Stories of Demonic Possession Kindle Edition

Drawing from his extensive experience in assisting with cases of demonic oppression and possession, in The Exorcism Files,Adam Blai presents readers with enlightening true stories and traces their causation. Whether people provided a gateway through Ouija boards, tarot cards, Reiki, Yoga, or martial arts, Blai reports from firsthand observation how they were lured into the occult.

Blai also recounts shocking cases of participation in covens and cults under the guise of knowledge, empowerment, and liberation. This is sometimes accompanied by crimes and hauntings, which Blai also documents. An essential guide for our time, The Exorcism Files reveals numerous striking truths about the supernatural, including:

  • The key signs of diabolic possession — and how they differ from those of oppression
  • How dabbling in the occult opens the door to evil
  • Why the devil most intently attacks priestly and religious vocations
  • How evil can manifest itself in physical objects or symptoms
  • Why only priests, with their bishops’ permission, should perform the solemn rite of exorcism
  • How engaging in ghost hunting is flirting with evil

Blai demonstrates that there is a supernatural enemy in this world who is trying to destroy us. Our defenses are the Precious Blood of Jesus, the sacraments of the Catholic Church, Holy Scripture, and Church Tradition.

“I don’t envy Adam Blai’s knowledge of the world of demons. His knowledge is hard won. But I am grateful to him for telling us what we need to know for the spiritual combat we call the Christian life.”

Redundant stories that all end the same way
The book itself is randomly organized, odd parts and chapter arrangements. Looking beyond that, the stories are too short and leave you wanting for more details. Eventually, the different 1-2 page stories all bleed together. Similar events, towing the cautionary tale against ouija boards and yoga.

I am a Catholic priest. While I am not an expert on the subject, I have been involved in a number of cases similar to those mentioned by Mr. Blai. While every case is different, what he describes is accurate. While some reviewers may feel disappointed in the terse format of the book, I certainly see such concision as one of its greatest strengths. The book holds true to its title: it is a series of case studies (i.e., "files") of demonic possession, oppression, etc. Speaking personally, I found that each chapter ended just as idle fascination would have replaced spiritual edification. I am more than grateful for such discretion. The point of the book is not to teach the reader how to be an exorcist, or even to whet our curiosity over such spiritual matters. It should be read with two purposes in mind: (1) to raise our hearts and minds to Almighty God, in Whom all power and authority lie, and (2) to better understand the conniving ways by which the demonic can enter into our lives--ways that are too often misunderstood, misrepresented, and even celebrated by our current culture. The reader learns by example what not to do; from warnings against the pride (as old as Eden) so rife in the New Age, to more specific information (with scriptural references) regarding contacting the dead; from examining the dubious origins of wicca, to discussing the pop-phenomena of ghost-hunting, ouija boards, and satanism, Mr. Blai provides a safe, no-nonsense, but gripping and informative survey of the spiritual fires with which humanity so insistently plays--as well as the spiritual truths by which God means to keep us safe. Sadly, many instances of demonic intrusion originate in a person seeking healing, wholeness, belonging, enlightenment, or satisfaction. What Mr. Blai's book points out is the various ways by which so many people turn to the demonic (knowingly or not) to achieve these goals, rather than to God who "makes all things new" (Rev 21:5). With so many ad campaigns, games, social media influencers, TV dramas, and now even children's shows normalizing (if not glorifying) the demonic, Mr. Blai's book should be a welcome addition to any spiritual library. My favorite part of the book was the Litany of Saints included in its closing pages; a prayer that anyone can (and should) say, clergy or not, Catholic or not--read the book and you'll get a sense as to why.

Adam gives a clear and interesting explanation of the power of Satan to turn us away from God and the efficacy of the Catholic Church’s Rite of Exorcism to save people from demonic possession. Easy to read and understand.

The writing style seemed a little 'bro' to me at first, but in fact it does give it a zippy pace. I cruised right through it and will probably do so again.

Most incidents he mentions are 2 or 3 pages at the most. Just the basic layout of the case and not enough to really learn much about. Was expecting more details similar to "Hostages of the Devil" by Malachi Martin. My bad I guess but was disappointed the entire first half of the book hardly tells much at all. Seems that he didn't want to share the more terror filled happenings he has experienced, but kept it rather bland.

Some of what is written, specifically catholic, I don’t believe is scriptural. Such as needing to go to confession. I confess my sin through Jesus Christ and I don’t believe Mary has special powers. But I do believe there are demons at work doing satan’s work to keep us from a personal relationship with Christ. It would behoove us to pay more attention

If you want to know how, and under what circumstances exorcisms take place. This book delivers! Mr. Blai is a Catholic Demonologist. In this book, he writes synopses of his numerous cases where he personally assisted priests to rid someone or something of an evil possession or oppression. While it is unnerving to read about these cases, I feel that this subject is important. The author explains that there is a darkness that exists in the world and many of these cases occur when people let their spiritual guard down to dabble or partake in the occult. But What Mr. Blai describes as the occult behind some of these oppressions, might just surprise you. I was kept enthralled through the entire book.

As a Catholic, I felt I learned so much about Satan’s wickedness and how there is a multitude of demons lurking and luring society in what may seem like harmless activities. I also felt the love God has for us through the expelling of the demons and how much love Jesus and Mary have for us as well. God is the Almighty Father and Satan’s empty promises will never compare to the amazing things God has in store for us, with us following the First Commandment. Prayer is beyond powerful and this book affirms that. I recommend reading this book. Adam has written it in such an easy to read manner and everything flowed nicely. I like how the Litany of the Saints is included in the book. Will read his other books for sure.

Adam Blai lead me to Christ. I saw an interview (on the YouTube Channel, Capturing Christianity) where he spoke of his 15 years of working as an exorcist. By the end of this 90 minutes, my faith in Jesus was solidified.

Then I bought this book. It helped me tremendously, just like Adam’s interview. It revealed to me what in my life was demonic and so needed to be uprooted and, of course, further increased my faith.

Adam, you are a godsend. No wonder Satan himself targets you. You are a formidable force for good and Christ is working through you to save thousands of lives. I know because I am one of them. God bless you. I will pray for your continued protection and success in Christ.
