The Veteran's Revenge: A Classic Western Adventure Kindle Edition

When the past screams for justice, George Hart answers, settling scores one enemy at a time…

George Hart, a man shattered by war's cruelty, witnesses the brutal death of his brother and best friend at the hands of Union soldiers. Fueled by grief, he transforms into a Confederate spy, his life dedicated to tracking down the battalion responsible for his loss.

As he edges closer to his long-awaited vengeance though, the burden of his mission and the horrors of war weigh heavily on his soul…

In post-war Texas, George seeks a peaceful life as a cattle rancher, but fate has other plans. A woman, bearing the scars of a savage gang attack, seeks refuge in his barn. Together, they embark on a treacherous journey of survival, love, and redemption.

Can George resist the pull of battle once more, or will the call to protect her ignite a fire he thought had long since extinguished?

In this gripping tale of loss and love, inspired by C.J Petit’s and Zane Grey’s favorite tales, George's quest for peace challenges the very essence of his spirit.

“I think of myself as a Colorado-born and bred man, the type of guy who wakes up at 5.30 to catch the sunrise, drinks strong coffee, tends to his animals and land, and completes his day by writing at dusk. A lone wolf with Scottish ancestry who leads the Western lifestyle to write adventure stories.”

Zachary McCrae was born and raised in Colorado, in a north city overlooking the Rockies. When he was sixteen, he abandoned his state, scarred by the death of his parents in a hit-and-run. He moved east and worked as a shoemaker, a plumber, a woodcutter, and even an ironworker, among other things. When he turned twenty-two, he decided to study at college so, with the money he had gathered for himself, he went all the way to South Carolina, where he reunited with long-lost Scottish cousins and studied the English language and literature—his passion.

At the age of thirty, he decided to stay with his wife, his Southern belle named Maryanne, and newborn twins in a small ranch just outside Anderson county. He served as a member in the local church community while writing down Christian stories of ranchers traveling West to make ends meet in the 1800s for fun. At the age of 50, and after his son and daughter moved away to pursue their own careers and studies, he decided with Maryanne to renovate his father’s ranch and leave as plain as possible. The Rockies were calling him back home. Shortly after, he decided to start tending to the land, like his mom did, and having his own animals, like his dad did. Some years later, and after lots of health issues, he finally decided to tend to his personal dream—become a writer of Western Adventure stories.

Zachary McCrae is an adventurous soul but with the strong will of a bull and the level-headedness of his favorite mare. If you’re looking for your next favorite western writer who reads Louis L’ Amour and Zane Grey in his free time, follow Mr. Mc Crae’s writing journey into the wild wild West!

A good read, with an action packed story that can keep a readers interest with the hope there will be a positive ending. The bad guys in this book are “real bad” and ruthless beyond measure . An interesting plan is put in place that has many working parts in order to stop the terror. The characters are believable and the Epilogue gives this story some finality.

A. Novel I enjoyed very much. For me it went on and on about the same time and at times it moved right along. As I said I enjoyed it.

Really liked this book. It had action and some romance. The main thing I loved was the internal fight to understand God’s plan for the different characters and the struggle to know God loved them and would forgive them of their past actions. We still live in a world that evil flourishes but there are still good people to fight that evil. Yet the fight is Yahweh’s fight in the end.

Look forward to reading more by this author.

When I started this book, I thought this is going to be one of my favorite books. The end did not bring this to fruition. Troubled war-time hero rescues a girl that was captured and used as a slave by a gang of outlaws. She is suppose to rescue him back right? She does her part. Only in this story the soldier is still so consumed with his guilt that he can’t make room for her or the Lords forgiveness not only to the end of the book but even during the epilogue. Disappointing. Didn’t need the outlaw Marcus’s past life and mother either. Weird story. Can’t believe Federal Marshalls show up with her and are willing to let him go free to an asylum with his mother after all he’s done. A big BOO on that stupid part!

Not much action. Hero is a wimp through out most of the story. Being a x-rebel scout he never went out to deal with the bad guys

This was absolutely wonderful, I could not put it down so I didn't! Definitely must read, for excitement and lots of drama and action packed scenes, moments of sadness and joy, lots that you might think about, but you'll have butterflies and lots of fun with the rest of the characters and mysteries solved, and put to rest! So don't miss this one it's one helluva book and this Author has you captured from page one until the very end!

To much evil and unrest happened in many states. This book shows how many gangs brought caucus and even more death and destruction. Even this, is only one part of the happenings. New friends, New towns and ranches. Take time to read this story Learn how lives struggles built character and a whole new faith in the one who give life.

Possibly one of the most pathetic westerns I’ve ever read, take a lesson from R O LANE and C J PETIT.
