Perfect if a water source isn’t near by and for spraying your fav soap solution

Perfect if a water source isn’t near by and for spraying your fav soap solution
Ok so let’s get this out of the way, this WORX hydroshot isn’t going to give you the power of something you use at the car wash or a real pressure washer. It won’t give you the pressure or the volume of water per minute that a real unit will give you.But here’s why you might want it. First it’s light, portable and you don’t need to plug into a power source or have a water faucet near by. So if you don’t mind bringing your own bucket of water, or maybe you have a lake, creek, ocean etc, you can use that source. Even if you have a water hose near by, this is great for making your own mix of cleaner or soap to spray something down. With the bottle attachment you can have your bucket ready with water and your own solution of really whatever you want in the bottle. So While I can come up with all kinds of ways to use this, I’ll tell you why I broke down and got one. It is used primarily on my car, it’s dark colored and every big of dust, pollen and tree stuff shows up on hours after washing it, most of the year.Since it’s kept clean, I don’t need a big hose of water, and I don’t need a big bucket with soap either. So it’s mostly used to spray the car down with plain water starting at the top, and I only spend time on areas were birds or bugs made a mess. I do this once or twice a week and dry it with MF towels. I purchased a three gallon bucket and when I’m done spraying down I always have just a little water left, and I use the 40 degree spray setting.Maybe once every two or three weeks do I hit the car with soap. I don’t like mitts or sponges, so I just make a soapy solution. I have a large 50oz water bottle but you can use anything with that kind of top, together with the little bottle adaptor. For a fairly clean car the bottle with a soap solution is enough but you have to move with purpose. For larger jobs, I make a soap solution in a one gallon water bottle, and just drop my hose in their, I take my time and soap down the entire car.I then take the hose out of the gallon jug and drop it in the bucket and rinse it down. Another plus, I use very little water. When I use the hose the water is running down the street even if I’m trying to be quick about it. I also have a trash can that smelled like a deceased animal so while I wash going to wash that down, I did my recycle bin too. So instead on squirting some soap in there and then trying to use a hose or a brush I just made a mixture of dish liquid and some stuff to mop the floor in a bucket. Stuff was caked on so I needed a total of almost three buckets to clean both, and the battery was down to one light out of three. This unit is easy to use but there are some little gripes. First is the little button you have to press before you can pull the trigger. It’s only on one side so as I’m moving around cleaning these trash cans switching off between hands, I have a hard time hitting that little button. It should be one both sides for easy left/right hand use.The hose it 20ft I think, but it needs to be just a little longer. Luckily this hose can be found at most hardware stores. I will purchase like another 7 ft piece and something to connect the hose to the original and it will be perfect. The little clip that is meant to hook onto a bucket and hold your hose in place is just about worthless. It pops off as I move around so I just don’t use it anymore. There is a ball/float that is there I think if you are using a body of water as your source to keep the hose from hitting bottom and sucking up dirt. For my purpose it’s just in the way so I’m going to remove and save it. The end of the hose with the filter on it keeps floating to the top of the bucket so I just put a wrench on top it. Later I will attached a little weight to it. These are little things that should have been worked out before bringing this product to market. Not deal breakers, but little things that are annoying. For small jobs this unit is fine and you can get more pressure on whatever you are aiming at by choosing a tighter beam.Be warned the 0 degree pinpoint is no joke. If you get that too close to paint you will remove it and it could damage delicate surfaces or finishes if you put it an inch away, be careful. There is a more powerful version of this, a two battery 40 volt version but it is considerably more expensive. I didn’t want to spend that much, but now I wonder.. a little more power and little more GPM would be nice. I also plan on using this for an engine detail where I will use my own cleaner then switch to water and finish off with a leaf blower.Final thoughts, the 4.0 ah battery seems to have long legs. The sprayer feels solid for being made out of plastic my only real worry is using a heavy bottle on the sprayer, over a long period of time I could see that possibly breaking. There are little annoyances but overall I’m happy and it’s what I needed. It will never replace what you use at a car wash, it’s not meant to clean a massive deck. For quick projects, where water isn’t available or for spraying various soap/cleaner solutions it’s great just don’t expect to be blown away by it. If you park your car in parking garage, or park on the street, this is perfect. One five gallon bucket for rinse and one gallon with your favorite soap you can clean any car anywhere. 4 stars, only missing one star because of my little gripes.

I really love this tool, it's great to wash my garage, water some plants, and clean the hard to reach spots outside of my house.
My only issue is that it took purchasing this more than once in order to get the hose and/or the connector to work as it kept malfunctioning and would NOT pull water from the bucket. I even took this to Home Depot, convinced that I must be doing something wrong, and the worker there was stumped with what the issue was.
It wasn't until I ordered a whole additional item that I found instructions to fill the entire hose with water before trying to use the attachment in a bucket. This allowed for the Hydroshot to finally do the work.
Know that if you can't get it to work, it's not you. Order another and hope that one will work.

With the bottle attachment you can have your bucket ready with water and your own solution of really whatever you want in the bottle. So While I can come up with all kinds of ways to use this, I’ll tell you why I broke down and got one. It is used primarily on my car, it’s dark colored and every big of dust, pollen and tree stuff shows up on hours after washing it, most of the year.

Since it’s kept clean, I don’t need a big hose of water, and I don’t need a big bucket with soap either. So it’s mostly used to spray the car down with plain water starting at the top, and I only spend time on areas were birds or bugs made a mess. I do this once or twice a week and dry it with MF towels. I purchased a three gallon bucket and when I’m done spraying down I always have just a little water left, and I use the 40 degree spray setting.

Maybe once every two or three weeks do I hit the car with soap. I don’t like mitts or sponges, so I just make a soapy solution. I have a large 50oz water bottle but you can use anything with that kind of top, together with the little bottle adaptor. For a fairly clean car the bottle with a soap solution is enough but you have to move with purpose. For larger jobs, I make a soap solution in a one gallon water bottle, and just drop my hose in their, I take my time and soap down the entire car.

I then take the hose out of the gallon jug and drop it in the bucket and rinse it down.

It should be one both sides for easy left/right hand use.

The hose it 20ft I think, but it needs to be just a little longer.

For small jobs this unit is fine and you can get more pressure on whatever you are aiming at by choosing a tighter beam.

Be warned the 0 degree pinpoint is no joke. I also plan on using this for an engine detail where I will use my own cleaner then switch to water and finish off with a leaf blower.

Final thoughts, the 4.0 ah battery seems to have long legs.

This is not a powerful unit, but it is more directed and effective than just using the hose pressure. I use it primarily for cleaning my bike. It does a great job of pulling the dirt off, without negatively impacting the paint/finish. Yes... you should avoid spraying it directly into areas with bearings (particularly bottom bracket), but that is easily avoidable with the directed spray head making a relatively small pattern.

This was recommended by Dallas Paint Correction on YouTube for car detailing use. It is useless, and I'm beginning to think the YouTube channel is as well.

I got what I thought was a complete kit including a decent 4AH battery. The kit came in a single box (no double boxing).

The manual is unintelligible. The phone support is non-existent: you can call, but if you don't want to leave your number, you will be suddenly disconnected. So, while apparently this thing has two power settings, I was unable to set them. While the kit includes a soap bottle, it does not, apparently, include an extension wand that will fit the soap bottle and will get you any pressure. The main wand will not fit the soap bottle, unbelievably. So you need to attach that bottle to the stump of the machine. As I said, this will mean virtually no pressure. Or you can buy another wand, it seems. You are cautioned not to fill a water bucket with anything but water. So the soap dispenser is necessary.

Without any pressure for soap, this device is actually inferior to a decent but not high-end hand pump sprayer. At the high price of this tool, one can buy a pump sprayer with robust foaming and spraying ability that is chemically resistant and made in Europe, not this Chinese junk. In fact, even as a pressure cleaner (it is not a pressure washer) the power is unimpressive, from what others have demonstrated.

If I only want to use water, and therefore do not expect chemical resistance, it's easy to find really cheap pump sprayers also without chemical resistance.

The rest of the tools in the kit are useless. I would never apply the included brush to a car, certainly not to paint. The squeegee is similarly useless.

I do not see the purpose of this tool and kit as it stands. Perhaps technical support would have told me how I could actually use this as intended. But as I said, I couldn't get through.

PS: The machine had a note urging be to keep the input filter clean, but neglected to tell me how to remove it. It seemed unremovable.

99% of the negative reviews must be from people who fail to read the manual.... After receiving mine, I read the manual, charged the battery all night like you should any rechargeable battery and fully primed the unit before using it. It has worked very well for me. I got it to rinse the salt off of the truck this winter, as this unit is portable and can do it. I learned several things after using it:
1. READ THE MANUAL, there are several key points you have to do assembling it and running it.
2. CHARGE THE BATTERY FULLY. Charge the rechargeable battery all night, even though the green fully charged light comes on. Rechargeable batteries have a memory.
3. PRIME IT PRIME IT PRIME IT.
I primed mine with the garden hose attached, battery off and squeezing the handle until water came out the tip for 15 seconds. I then attached the battery and ran it. Too many people I believe aren't properly priming the pump and the pressure washer is failing. Prime it every time.
4. USES REGULAR PRESSURE WASHER TIPS. Not mentioned in the manual. The multi adjustment tip only sprays the water out in a flat stream, I prefer a straight up and down fan. You can only do this with a regular pressure washer tip and I use the 15 deg one all the time now.
5. SHORT WAND. The short wand you can order separately increases working pressure considerably compared to the long wand provided. I use the short one all the time now.
Using the short wand and 15 deg pressure washer tip work great. Certainly gets all of the salt off the truck! I went around it 2X and still had 2 bars out of 3 on the rechargeable battery 😃
