High Country: A Classic Western Series (The Quest Chronicles Book 1) Kindle Edition

RETRIBUTION. REDEMPTION. FRONTIER ACTION.

In the wake of a brutal attack that shattered his family and razed his home to ashes, Cordell Beckett emerges from the ruins with a singular purpose burning in his heart—vengeance. With each step, his resolve strengthens, his skills sharpen, and his determination to track down the renegade Red Legs grows.

Yet, as Cordell embarks on his quest for retribution across the untamed expanse of the newly settled West, echoes of his father's teachings tug at his conscience. Wrestling with the age-old dilemma of justice versus reprisal, he grapples with the haunting question: Is he driven by duty…or consumed by revenge?

Follow along as one cowboy sets his sights on the high country of the Rocky Mountains, where the plague of gold fever runs amok and outlaw renegades hide in numbers. Buy your copy of this classic Western today!

Born into a ranching/rodeo family, Bob is the youngest of seven boys. After careers in business, insurance, and 30 years as a Baptist pastor, Bob retired to pursue his dream of writing. In his first year he wrote two #1 bestsellers (Star Dancer and To Keep a Promise) and continues to add to the Buckskin Chronicles series with all the books reaching the top 10 in bestsellers rank! His exciting stories are set in the mid 19th century as historical westerns and are true to history in every detail. He continues to add to the series and now also is branching out to stand alone westerns based on real characters with exciting action and extraordinary plots and supporting characters.

Having checked out a number of the westerners and to close up and return Necessity. Sometimes the stories seem compelling, by alas the discouraging and disgusting content makes them unreadable.
This is not the case with High Country. Laced with a considerable amount of disgusting on of the aftermath of some serious violence. However the redeeming passages that follow surely show the feelings that Cade is saddled with, making the story come th life.

The sentences are often poorly formed. And once in a while a sentence seems to further where it was going and ends before a verb appears. Taking a little more care with the writing could fix that. The main character grins when he sees a sign for a town, or a deer while he's hunting, or his fishing pole. Every other page has him grinning at something while by himself in the wilderness. That's just not normal -- nobody grins to himself at random things unless they have mental health issues. I'm puzzled why the author did that. Of course, this is the first book in the series, so maybe the writing will improve. But some of this poor writing seems to come from a strong habit, an entrenched pattern.

Always look for B.N Russell books. Love his stories and this book is one that I really enjoyed. Cord was left an orphan when his home was attacked by renegades. At 19 years old he left the home of the family that taken him in to find the men who had killed his family.

Another book that draws you in from the beginning and holds you fast until the very end. You are an exceptional writer. I have loved all your books. Packed with action, suspense, happiness, sadness, bravery, etc. I am waiting for your next book in the series. I also love the wholesomeness and Christian values.

I had my mindset on a higher standard from all his previous work. But then again it is the first book In a new series hopefully. Lets see where it takes us.

Rundell painted a beautiful picture of the old west. Danger, romance, tragedy and joy keep you highly engaged. Great job!

Mr Rubdell I’ve read and enjoyed several of your books, some under another pen name.
My only complaint, with this one, is the lack of numbers— pages read and length of time to the end.

Looks like the beginning of a new series. Cord and Bird make a great traveling couple and it’s good to see both complement the other while still keeping their respective individuality. It’s apparent that their is a budding romance occurring but since both come from different cultures and yet have similar backgrounds, they are building the trust, spirituality and love any new relationship must have for longevity.
