Full disclosure: as an aspiring audiophile, I did return this for a different brand that suited me better. But I will say this - this is a pretty good speaker for the money (though it has limitations). It's definitely a bright speaker - and is fine on most content - but I did notice on some higher range dialog it did sound a tad shriek. How often does this type of dialog appear in content - maybe not that often? But I'm in a position to upgrade, so I did. This speaker also made my SW bass boomier...the replacement allows me to go to near reference (~ -5.0 to -6.0) where this speaker started sounding a little shrieky and made the bass boomy at around -11.0. I liked this MUCH better than both the Def Tech 9040 it replaced and the B&W HTM6 s2 I tried after (I settled on another different brand than any of these). For most people, this will be a perfectly good center channel.
