5.0 out of 5 starsExtremely relevant metaphor for the beyhive and real world events combined into one charcter.

Im going to start with the only thing I disagree with on the writing. For some reason they've written the main character to almost definitely be someone that's on the spectrum. For most of the real events that are depicted, most of the time it wasnt someone on the spectrum or necessarily someone mentally ill, So they could easily have made her completely normal, and for her to just have had "lapses of sanity". Secondly even though this show is more about metaphors, the main charcter isnt shown to have any family/friends (besides one) but its never established why she doesnt have family members. Secondly after the powerful first episode, the punch it packs at the end gets punched again and again throughout the series making it almost cartoonish. I think this show couldve benefited from being more anthonlogical in nature, following diffrent characters each episode. That aside this is one of the most culturaly relevant shows Ive ever seen. Each epsiode is a complete methaphor for fan culture and more specifically beyonce fans. Beyonce fans call themselves the beyhive (akin to the title"the swarm") and the main charcter is a fan obsessed with a singer that is preety much beyonce other name and face. Every epsiode has events that have actually taken place in the past decade with actual obsessed fans, and usually those have involved beyonce fans. I didnt have much fear from the show itself putside the first epsiode , after you understand what the show was doing. Yet I was still afraid after watching because I know these kinds of people are real and the pandemic made them a whole lot worse. Still expect some laughs , as Donald Glover was a comedian first, but it seems his style and direction gets more refined with every project. I yearn for what a co directing project with Jordan Peele would look like after something like this from Mr.Glover. 7 epsiodes was too short.
