If you HATE Barbie, this movie is for you.
This movie is not for children; it is not for anyone.
Distracting and annoying virtue signaling starts during the opening credits and continues throughout the movie. This movie is depressing and preachy, but uses slapstick jokes and upbeat music to confuse the audience. It constantly shows men as ignorant, incompetent and heartless. It also preaches about the so called "Patriarchy" and women's struggle to become CEO's. Really? How many people are CEOs? They explain how women are forced to appear attractive and cater to men. Women have more rights than men: Selective service, alimony, child support... About forty minutes in, Barbie meets with students at a school. A student calls her a "Fascist". Apparently the writer has no idea what "Fascism" is. It was at this point in the movie that I realized it really is just following popular political left culture. Any discrepancy of outcome regardless of circumstances or effort is inequality in their opinion. This movie really shows that we are in the age of the butt-hurt.
This movie has little to do with the original concept of Barbie, and is not about Barbie. It is preaching an opinion.
I really wanted to just watch a fun kids movie with a happy and meaningful ending.
So much for that...
