DJ Moore is annoyed by but appreciative of Bears defense's continual chirping of offense in practice: 'We got to stay calm'

(670 The Score) A staple of the Bears’ work this offseason has been a loud-mouth defense continually talking trash to a new-look offense in practice.

As top receiver DJ Moore put it, the defense’s chirping might be annoying, but he also appreciates it. He believes that rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and the entire offense need to be challenged in every way possible in practice.

“It makes us frustrated, but we got to stay calm and understand that we’re still learning the whole playbook as a unit,” Moore said on the Mully & Haugh Show on Tuesday morning. “It’s even better for Caleb because then he’s not just going into a game like, ‘Oh, they’re doing all this chirping.’

“Our defense is top five in almost every category. And I know in chirping, they’re probably top one. It’s all good development for everybody.”

Moore also praised Williams’ poise and progress in the team’s offseason work since he was selected at No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft by the Bears in late April.

“He’s been doing good,” Moore said. “He’s been getting better every day. I’m looking forward to training camp, where it’s going to be football, football and we see him in real action with pads and stuff on.

“Caleb has been amazing.”
