Story
Sharing lodging in the sleepy English village of Walmsley Parva has eased some of the financial strain on the two old school chums, but money is still tight in these years following the Great War. So when the local vicar - and pigeon-racing club president - approaches them with a private inquiry opportunity, the ladies accept. There's been a spot of bother: The treasurer has absconded with the club's funds and several prized birds. But when they visit the man's loft, they find their elusive quarry lying in white feathers and a pool of crimson blood - the only witnesses cooing mournfully.

Wonderful cozy mystery

The English countryside, post WWI, is the setting of this book and the first. I suspect all in the series will be similar. The two main characters, Miss Edwina and adventurer Beryl, are delightful in their friendship…opposite in their respective lives, background, and philosophies, Making an interesting team for their “Private Inquiries” newly formed business venture. So glad I found this series! Bravo to both the author, Jessica Elliott and the narrator, Barbara Rosenblat!

I love True Detective, especially season 1. Until Night Country…Jodie Foster is one of my favorite actors, of all time. She certainly doesn’t disappoint in this series. I grew up watching her, and now that I’m older, it is wonderful that she is still truly amazing, and should give all females in our generation hope! I love that the two detectives are badasses…strong, independent women in the most rugged setting I can imagine. Amazing!
This podcast is the perfect one to explore this season. The presenter is awesome! My new fav podcast :)

I loved all of the 50 shades books. I am one of only a few people who took this long to listen to them, after watching the movies for the first time a few weeks ago. As always, the books are better than the movies, with more depth and perspective.
I wasn’t sure about this one, but hearing the story from Christian’s point of view was enthralling. I had so many questions about him after the first three books, and this answered almost all of them. Highly recommend to any 50 shades lovers 😉

If you are experiencing a crisis of faith (even Mother Teresa admitted them) Don't despair, but listen to this book and you may find portions of the story that provide inspiration and enlightenment. Highly recommend!

Story
Ulysses S. Grant's life has typically been misunderstood. All too often he is caricatured as a chronic loser and an inept businessman or as the triumphant but brutal Union general of the Civil War. But these stereotypes don't come close to capturing him, as Chernow reveals in his masterful biography, the first to provide a complete understanding of the general and president whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency.

Story
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?
