A mountain lion was found trapped in the courtyard of Tucson Medical Center Friday morning, police say.

Around 11 a.m., Tucson police responded to a call regarding a mountain lion found pacing the campus of the medical center.

According to officials, the cougar had wandered into the courtyard late Friday morning and became trapped, and began roaming around the courtyard and peering into windows.

Officials went on to say that the mountain lion had also appeared to cut its paw after apparently leaning on a window and breaking it.

It is unclear how the lion initially entered the campus, officials said.

Authorities went to say that the cougar was safely removed "without further damage and without injury," citing that the cougar is healthy and will soon be relocated and released.
