The Cavaliers have their head coach in place after hiring Kenny Atkinson to try to take the current roster to the next level. Now, Atkinson's coaching staff continues to come into focus.
The Cavs have hired New York Knicks coach Johnnie Bryant to be Atkinson's associate head coach, a league source confirmed an ESPN report.
Bryant was with the Knicks for four seasons. But perhaps most notably as it pertains to the Cavaliers, Bryant was with the Utah Jazz for six seasons and is familiar with star guard Donovan Mitchell, who was acquired from the Jazz and recently agreed to a long-term contract extension to remain in Cleveland.
