Giovanni Cianci has joined The Late Show With Stephen Colbert as music producer, the CBS late night program announced on Tuesday (Nov. 28).
Cianci will be responsible for booking and producing music segments, working with supervising producer Emily Gertler and the New York-based show’s talent booking team. He helps fill a role vacated by Sheryl Zelikson, who announced in July she would leave her position as senior music producer after 20 years with The Late Show.
“This was a very amicable decision between Sheryl and the show. We wish her great things for the future,” said a spokeswoman for The Late Show in July.
CBS also announced then that it was searching for a new music booker with the ability to discover talent, book “big names,” and “bring big ideas for innovative ways to produce music for both broadcast and digital.”
