The modern Vegas residency continues today in full swing, with current ongoing productions by Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Diana Ross, and George Strait. On Dec. 28, Lady Gaga will premier Enigma at the Park Theater at the Park MGM resort, while Aerosmith and Britney Spears will also launch new shows in 2019 at the Park Theater.

On the eve of Mother Monster’s Vegas debut, we’re looking back on the highest grossing residencies in the history of Billboard Boxscore (which dates back to 1990). The full list, below, represents the top grossing Las Vegas residencies, excluding any shows that are part of a touring production. The data is according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore.

Celine Dion tops the list and is her own runner-up as the queen of Sin City. Combined, her two residencies, both at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, have grossed a colossal $630.6 million and sold 4,335,032 tickets across 1,089 shows. The Celine residency continues with more than 30 dates scheduled in 2019, possibly tacking on another $20-30 million to her tally.

Elton John also appears twice in the top five, at No. 3 with The Red Piano and at No. 5 with The Million Dollar Piano, both at The Colosseum. His combined gross of $297.6 million easily makes him the second-biggest earner in Las Vegas.

With more shows on the books for Cher’s Classic Cher production at the Park Theater, could the multi-generational diva become the third act to add a second title to the top 10? Her simply titled Cher show sits at No. 7. Or, could Britney Spears’ Domination (set to debut on Feb. 13, 2019) join Piece of Me (No. 4) in the top 10? And, as the Oscar buzz around A Star Is Born hits a fever pitch, will Lady Gaga conquer Las Vegas in her newest artistic rebirth as Enigma?

Outside the top 10 are some staples of the strip. Mariah Carey descended upon Sin City with the Number 1 to Infinity residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, grossing $25.8 million from 2015-17. She recently launched The Butterfly Returns at The Colosseum, which has pulled in $3.6 million so far with more shows scheduled throughout 2019.

Shania Twain made her comeback to the stage with Shania: Still the One in 2012 at The Colosseum. Across three years and 105 shows, Twain grossed $43.6 million. Another legendary country residency was Together in Vegas, also at The Colosseum, combining the star power of Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn. They pulled in $25.4 million and sold 205,159 tickets between 2015 and 2018.

Donny & Marie Osmond have been consistently playing in Vegas over the last decade, racking up $31.3 million at The Showroom at Flamingo. While most major Las Vegas residencies play The Colosseum (4,000 seats), Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood (7,000) or Park Theater (5,200), Donny & Marie’s 332,961 tickets sold is an even more impressive figure when considering they’ve kept their shows intimate, playing to 750 fans each night.
