Saturday Night Live‘s Christmas shows are always extra special. The festive spirit means even higher energy than usual inside Studio 8H, and extra-buzzy celebrity guest stars can be expected.
In keeping with this hallowed tradition, the women of SNL recently carried on that hallowed tradition by getting together for a cover of Mariah Carey’s Xmas staple “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” flipping the script and asking Santa to bring just one thing on Dec. 25: the long-awaited report from special counsel Robert Mueller.
The instant classic joined a list of five other holiday tributes from the gang at Studio 8H. Get in the holiday spirit by watching the best holiday musical moments from Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, and more below.
6. “All I Want For Christmas is You (Mueller)”
Trending on Billboard
Cecily Strong, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Leslie Jones, Melissa Villaseñor, Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim only want one thing in their stocking this year: “I just want to sleep at night/ So make sure that your case is tight,” they sang in the song about their anticipation of Mueller’s probe into the alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. “I just want a simple thing/ And the joy that it will bring/ The report is finally due/ Mueller, all I want for Christmas is you, you baby.”

5. Paul McCartney Christmas Pageant
Martin Short is always hilarious, but putting him opposite a game McCartney as two guys auditioning together for a Christmas pageant — with no singing allowed from one Sir Paul — was still an unexpected treat. The fact that the sketch ended in the best possible way — with the set being struck and McCartney going onstage to sing “Wonderful Christmastime” was a delightful SNL Christmas miracle.
4. “I Wish It Was Christmas Today”
You can’t go wrong with an original new wave Xmas tune sung by Horatio Sanz, Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan and Chris Kattan: “I don’t care what the newsman says/ Christmas is full of cheer/ I don’t care if you think it’s a lie/ Christmas will soon be here.”
3. Buble Duets
Michael Buble is the undisputed king of the present-day Christmas album. So when he stopped by SNL, he naturally had to participate in a sketch in addition to some singing. Impressions of Sting, Taylor Swift, MIA, and Russell Brand as Buble duet partners followed, but the real treat was Fallon’s perfect early-era Justin Bieber.
2. “D–K in a Box”
The sketch is an Emmy winner (yes, an actual Emmy winner) for a reason. The perfect mix of raunchy, absurd, and goofy (just check out Timberlake and Andy Samberg’s outfits!), it’s no wonder this instantly became a classic SNL moment — and helped cement Timberlake’s place as one of the all time great hosts.
1. (Do It On My) Twin Bed
The debut video from the best musical group SNL‘s ever seen, Yr Girls, dropped a holiday ditty in 2013 that was stuck in our head for the next year. The old-school junior high photos as a backdrop — not to metion Fallon’s rap — were the perfect bonuses. (And don’t miss the Thanksgiving sequel, “Back Home Ballers.”)
