One day, A Boy left for a journey, and that became a 1000 episode anime.
Like seriously?
One Piece is considered as a shōnen manga, which is considered to be a PG 13 anime, and has more than 1000 chapters and episodes.
Which is a bit daunting to commit to, for a Shonen Anime having 300-500 episodes is very common, but this anime had so much more fillar than the actual story that the readers and the audiences are kind of bored by now.
Now, One Piece is one of the most famous anime series till this date, if we check Crunchyroll we will find One Piece in the top 10 section.
But now because the manga audience is expanding, I.G and WIT representative Takeshi Wada talked about the One Piece project, as it is one of the greatest projects they have now, if not, the greatest project.
According to Wada ,”Eiichiro Oda has a strong desire to deliver Japanese manga to more people around the world, and in order to do so, he also took on the challenge of making a live-action version of “ONE PIECE””.
Now let’s go back to the time when we had to experience the live action movie of “Death Note”.
That live action movie disappointed the whole Otaku fanbase on so many levels, so creating another live action on a well loved anime is a big challenge.
Wada further said that “Ghibli Studios” has moulded the anime sector in such a way that out of the box animations are not being that much accepted.
But that’s not the case if we see Mappa then we will understand that “Kakegurui” had a completely different style and so is “Attack On Titans” and both of them are equally well loved.
What One Piece is not doing is getting out of the old style.
According to him , “I felt that the Academy Awards, the pinnacle of cinema, awarding an award to director Hayao Miyazaki’s work was a great accomplishment and a start. I think the question is what we will create from now on”.
The two big challenges they are going to face while creating ONE PIECE is, firstly, the 1000+ chapter format which is filled with fillers, and secondly, 4.3 analog ratio.
At this point anything can happen, we just have to wait until its release to see whether it is hit or a miss.
