Very good - I've been looking at the same things myself. One point: blaming Lysenko is too easy. He thought he was getting politics out of science, not putting it in. I entirely agree that getting honesty back into science is the vital step - but before that can be done, you have to actually check published science for honesty. Currently that is not valued sufficiently to really get done. By coincidence, I was writing about that just two days ago.
