An oceanfront mansion in Barnstable has sold for $22.75 million, breaking a Cape Cod record.
It was the highest sales price to date for a single-family home on Cape Cod, said Paul Grover, the broker for the sale.
“It’s highest I’m aware of ... of anything recorded in the MLS,” Grover said.
The Cape Cod & Islands Association of Realtors confirmed it was the most expensive residential sale since their organization began tracking data in the MLS Property Information Network. The previous record was $20 million for a property on the Penzance Point peninsula in Woods Hole, the group said.
The property at 835 Sea View Ave. came on the market at the beginning of 2022. The sale was recorded with the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds on Tuesday, Grover said.

Situated on 3.66 acres overlooking Nantucket Sound, the estate includes an outdoor swimming pool and 280 feet of sandy shoreline.

Built in 2012, the seven-bedroom home has 15,500 square feet of living space that is split into a main house and attached guest house.
“It was meticulously maintained from the day it was built,” Grover said.
The property is noteworthy for its size and location, and its architecture and design are top-notch, he said.

Grover said the property is “very private” but also close to the center of Osterville, a village in Barnstable.
