The golf influencer Paige Spiranac has some big plans for the Fourth of July. Let’s just say hot dog fans everywhere are sure to get a kick out of what she’s set to do!
Spiranac’s Big Fourth Of July Plans
Spiranac took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to say that she plans to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday by taking part in a hot dog eating contest.
“I’m doing it. I’m really doing it,” she wrote. “Attempting to see how many hotdogs I can eat in 10 minutes again this year. What’s your guess?”
Spiranac, 31, has submitted her name to fill in for Joey Chestnut. This came after he was forced out of Major League Eating’s premier contest over the Fourth of July holiday due to his sponsorship with Impossible Foods. Chestnut’s record is 76 hot dogs devoured in 10 minutes.
“I’m available to fill in. My record is 6.5 hotdogs in 10 minutes,” Spiranac later added on X.
To make her case, Spiranac later posted a video of herself eating six hot dogs in 10 minutes. Her strategy was to eat the sausages first followed by the buns. She then washed it all down with a glass of water.
Spiranac Struggles To Finish
Unfortunately for her, Spiranac was noticeably struggling by the time she got to the sixth hot dog.
“That sucked, the technique of the two dogs at once was not it,” she said in the clip. “I started out too aggressive and it was not the move, I should have just stuck with my plan of one at a time.”
“The first part was just the density of it, I just had so much in my mouth that I could not swallow and that was the hardest part,” she continued. “It was like these huge chunks and I did not know what to do, so that was not fun. The smell of hotdogs are just making me gag right now.”

Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest
Even without Chestnut, The Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest is still set to take place on Thursday. The female competitors who are currently listed as competing on the women’s side are Miki Sudo, Mayoi Ebihara, Michelle Lesco, Larell Marie Mele, Katie Prettyman, Mary Bowers, Cherish Brown, Jocelyn Young, Julie Goldberg, Tandra Childress, Ellen Straub, Crystal Ocampo, Elizabeth Salgado and Rubianne Garcia.
Meanwhile, the male competitors are Geoffrey Esper, Nicholas Wehry, James Webb, Gideon Oji, Patrick Bertoletti, Max Stanford, Darrien Thomas, Ricardo Corbucci, Radim Dvořáček, King Yamamoto, George Chiger, Derek Hendrickson, Sean Yeager and William Clude Lyon IV.
The Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest is held every year outside the original Nathan’s location in Coney Island near Brooklyn, New York. It is set to air on ESPN3 on Thursday, July 4. The women’s competition starts at 10:45AM EST, and the men’s competition will follow at noon EST.
