Jenna Lyons Reveals Why Brynn Whitfield Is an "Amazing Wing Woman"
It was thanks to Brynn that Jenna got a woman's number while out.
The engagement rumors might be swirling now as Jenna Lyons, wearing a big ring on that all-important left finger, recently posted a selfie with girlfriend Cass Bird on her social media. But last winter, Jenna was still single and ready to mingle, and decided to call on Brynn Whitfield as her wing woman.
The two hit up the legendary Henrietta Hudson bar in Episode 12 of Season 14’s The Real Housewives of New York City. The bar, which has been around for three decades, is the longest running lesbian bar in the country, but it also describes itself as a “Queer Human Bar,” and says it “seeks to uplift everyone," per its website.
“Henrietta Hudson’s is a place that I went when I first came out,” Jenna told producers. “So, it holds kind of a special place in my heart.”

Brynn told Jenna this wasn’t her first time in a gay bar, and added, “That’s why I wore my pajamas. I’m ready to go home with anybody.”
Jenna confessed that Brynn was the perfect person to take to the bar.
“I’m actually so relieved that Brynn is with me, because the girl has game,” Jenna said. “Like, I have none. I am so shy. I’ve never picked anyone up, ever.”
Brynn told The Daily Dish she was single as of July 2023, and she shared more about her three engagements with the ‘Wives at Erin Lichy’s home in Sag Harbor earlier in the season.

“I don’t differentiate between straight or gay,” Brynn told producers. “Look, there’s good-looking people — I’m going to be there, and I’m going to be drinking. And flirting. Love is love. I’ll take it wherever I can get it.”
A woman came over and introduced herself as Katie to Jenna and Brynn at their table, and Brynn set to work getting them to chat and get to know each other.
“Brynn’s an amazing wing woman,” Jenna said. “She’s so vivacious, and she’s clearly straight. So, she’s not a threat. She’s charming.”
Jenna admitted earlier in the season at Erin’s anniversary party to going through a breakup, and she told Katie at the bar that she’d been single for two months.
“I haven’t been single in so long, so I actually don’t know how to do this stuff anymore,” Jenna said to Katie. “I’m having a little bit of an out-of-body experience. I feel like I’m a fish out of water.”
But Brynn the wing woman stepped in to help again, telling them, “I think we should just do the number exchange — if you want, I can broker this.” Katie agreed, and wrote her number on Jenna’s wrist.

Did Jenna ever call Katie? We may never know. What we do know is these days photographer Cass Bird and Jenna appear to be happier than ever. Jenna made their relationship public at the end of July 2023, and posted pictures of her romantic trip with Cass in the Mediterranean.
The couple told The Cut they met between Season 14 being filmed and it starting to air in July 2023. The two didn’t meet at a bar with wing woman Brynn’s help, but rather at a mutual friend’s place in Brooklyn.
“It was laugh-y and silly,” Cass told The Cut about first meeting Jenna. “We hung out and were like, ‘Yep.’ She is an actual mutant. Which I know you know already.”
Jenna frequently posts about Cass on her Instagram page, including this picture she took of her girlfriend on Sept. 25 that she captioned, “Thirst trap @cassblackbird beautiful baby.”
