Meet Amanda Jones: she's an animal photographer who specializes in dog portraiture. Just one look at her Instagram account and your eyes will flood with happy tears.
Though she works on various projects — which you can check out here — there's one project in particular that melts hearts...
Her Dog Years Project! For the past decade, Amanda has been photographing these four-legged babies — from when they were younger until they are seniors — and the images are majestically beautiful.

BuzzFeed chatted with Amanda who said that she started the project "after [her] longhaired Dachshund, Lily Jones, passed away."

Amanda then went on to create a memorial card, in Lily Jones honor, which elicited such an emotional response from her friends and family, that she eventually turned it into a series.

"Naturally, I thought my clients might enjoy revisiting a portrait session with their own aging dogs. I was definitely right about that!"

She then explained that the process has been bittersweet for her clients since it's "hard for them to realize just how much time has altered their companions."

And when it comes to photographing the dogs so many years apart, Amanda said it's funny because they have the same reactions and respond to the studio/setup the same way as they did the first time.

"They don’t really remember me, but most of the time, I think that is because so much time has passed between the two portrait sessions. I LOVE seeing them as seniors!"

Overall, Amanda said the project is a very emotional process and "definitely a labor of love."
