Alec Baldwin Broke His Silence After His "Rust" Shooting Trial Was Dismissed

    Yesterday, Alec Baldwin's criminal trial for alleged involuntary manslaughter came to a shocking and sudden conclusion.

    The actor was on trial for the shooting and killing of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film Rust in 2021. Alec was holding the gun which went off and fired the bullet that killed Halyna.

    In February of last year, Alec entered a "not guilty" plea, and the trial began earlier this week.

    Yesterday, on the trial's fourth day, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer dismissed the case and said it could not be filed again, after it was revealed that police and prosecutors may have withheld evidence while presenting their case. You can read more about the nuts and bolts of it all right here.

    After an emotional display in the courtroom from Alec and his wife Hilaria Baldwin, the actor didn't address the press while leaving the courtroom post-ruling — but now he's broken his silence on Instagram about the unexpected turn of events.
