Meet 23-year-old Evelin Costa. She's an Australian makeup artist whose been going viral for transforming herself into your favorite celebs.
Known as @makeupbyevelin on TikTok, Evelin's videos have been gaining millions of views for a while now — but the actual series began unintentionally. "I did my first transformation last year. It started when I did a normal makeup look wearing a brown wig with a fringe, and people said I looked like Kim off the iconic Australian show Kath & Kim," Evelin told BuzzFeed.
"I thought, why don’t I try to make my features look more like hers and do a video using a sound from the show? Which people loved." Here's the result of Evelin's Kim transformation video — facial expressions and all:
Evelin then experimented with more transformations, including one of Victorian premier Dan Andrew, which even gained media attention. According to Evelin, when it comes to these makeup looks, the biggest "challenge" is "not only draw someone’s features on my face, but to try and disguise my own at the same time." Well, despite the daunting task, she's quite the master of disguise:
Some of her most popular videos have featured well-known celebrities like Khloé Kardashian — which has become one of her most viral TikToks, with over 14.1 million views.
YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT'S NOT KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN.
And if you're impressed by the resemblance, you're not alone. Many viewers gave tons of praise in the comments:
Though the Khloé video received a ton of positive attention, Evelin mentioned that the clips can get "mixed reactions" and negative comments — especially when it comes to her older content. Nevertheless, she loves to showcase her progress, no matter how a transformation comes out: "I like to post my videos even if I’m not 100% happy with them because I think it’ll be great to look back on and retry them once I improve. I also want to encourage others that not everything turns out perfect, and that’s okay!"
Madison even commented on Evelin's TikTok video, freaking out about the resemblance herself:
Evelin has the best attitude when it comes to creating content and sharing her love for makeup: "I make my videos for entertainment. I don’t mind if people think it does or doesn’t look like the person I’m trying to re-create; after all, everyone sees people differently, and everyone notices certain features over others when looking at a person."
"I’ve found something that I love doing — not only the makeup, but I love putting together the videos. It’s a bonus that they have been getting a lot of attention, and it encourages me to keep creating."
