People Are Showing Love And Support For Marlon Wayans After He Posted A Series Of LGBTQ+ Ally Photos Amidst Intense Backlash

"Damn, I appreciate seeing this level of compassionate, confident, and loving energy from a Black man with influence."

Marlon Wayans was literally In Living Color with his LGBTQ+ allyship, and despite the backlash from haters — his peers, fans, and allies stood 10 toes behind him.

The 51-year-old comedian, writer, and producer is a part of the humorous Wayans dynasty, including his siblings Keenen Ivory, Shawn, and Damon Wayans.

Amongst all the titles he proudly holds, they've come second to being a supportive LGBTQ+ father lately.

And nothing has expressed his growth as an ally harder than his recent photoshoot with photographer and director Parrish Lewis (IG: @Parrish_Lewis). In the series of photos, Marlon delivered several messages supporting LGBTQ+ people and defended his aspiring allyship against the haters.

"Happy PRIDE to all my LGBTQ+ peoples," Marlon captioned the first photo. "P.S. I'm STRAIGHT… well, according to my child CISGENDER male. I just love and support my peoples."

"Yeah and just for the HATE MONGERS … I'm posting ANOTHER," he captioned the second photo as a response to the haters. "As a father of a child in the LGBTQ+ community I show my support. Zero fucks what people think. If i lost you… GOOD! Your hateful ass never loved me in the first place. How can you love anyone when you're too busy judging. Some of y'all funny. I'm a troll. I'll post all day." He ended the caption with, "HAPPY PRIDE to all my friends, fam, fans and loved ones. I am happy you're happy… period."

In a third post, as another response to the backlash, Marlon wrote, "You mad?! I can do this shit ALL DAY... but instead I think I'll do it ALL MONTH. HAPPY PRIDE. Love and Laughter will always drown hate."

Then, Marlon responded to the haters AGAIN with another photo, captioned, "Do i look like I really give a f**k?! Happy PRIDD month. Especially to all the hateful dudes out there mad because I'm supporting family and friends. For people to be that homophobic wreaks of repressed feelings/desires. Bruh, don't live like that. Come on out. Be you. That's what PRIDE is all about… acceptance. I swear i got soooo many more pics."

Every hateful, misguided, pathetic comment that attempts to ridicule or shame Marlon for his support of his LGBTQ+ family and friends will only produce another beautifully shot photo and intense caption, so the haters are wasting their time.

Luckily, Marlon's fans and peers have rallied behind him with messages of support, and here's what they're saying:

"Marlon Wayans tripling down on his Pride Month support on Insta, facing down some shit-heel haters, is Today's Mood — we love you Marlon!!" one user wrote.

As a queer Black person still hopelessly searching for more acceptance within my communities — primarily Black men — it's imperative to see messages like Marlon's in support of everyone regardless of your sexual orientation, gender expression, or identity.

I'm crossing my fingers that Marlon sets an example that the journey of allyship may not be quick and easy, but it's possible, and when you get to the other side, it's impactful, like these photos (1, 2, 3, 4).
