  • Dakota Hudson SP | COL

Rockies' Dakota Hudson: Beat up in third inning

Hudson did not factor into the decision in a loss to Atlanta on Saturday, allowing five runs on three hits and four walks over 2.2 innings while striking out one.

Hudson allowed the leadoff man to reach in each of his first two innings of work but was fortunate to draw double play balls on both occasions to help him escape unscathed. Things would begin to unravel for the right-hander in the third, however, as he issued walks to three of the first five batters he faced before eventually surrendering a two-out grand slam to Matt Olson. Hudson has now issued three or more walks in each of his last three starts for Colorado (dating back to June 28) and owns an 8:13 K:BB over that stretch. He's also failed to make it through five innings in each of his last two outings, though both of those have come at Coors Field.

  • Max Fried SP | ATL

Braves' Max Fried: Fans nine in no-decision

Fried did not factor into the decision in a win over Colorado on Saturday, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks over five innings while striking out nine.

Fried struggled out of the gate, allowing at least three baserunners in each of the first three innings, leading to five runs coming across for Colorado - though only four would be charged to the lefty due to one of the runners advancing on a passed ball. Fried did generate 12 whiffs on the night en route to recording his highest strikeout total since June 4 against the Red Sox. However, he's now allowed four or more runs in back-to-back starts since returning from the injured list and has issued at least three walks in five of his last seven outings (dating back to June 17).

  • Parker Meadows CF | DET

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Triples, scores in loss

Meadows went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Giants.

Meadows scored Detroit's lone run of the game in the top of the fifth inning after hitting his one-out triple. The outfielder has now played in five contests since returning from a hamstring injury, and he's gone 10-for-22 with four extra-base hits, four runs scored and four RBI. If Meadows can sustain his recent level of performance, he'll make a big fantasy impact during the stretch run.

  • Miguel Amaya C | CHC

Cubs' Miguel Amaya: Drives in two Saturday

Amaya went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 3-1 win over the White Sox.

Amaya is now riding a modest two-game hitting streak but it's been a struggle overall for the catcher. He has just a .588 OPS through 83 games, which is a 100 point drop from his figure last season as a rookie. The 25-year-old was a fairly well-regarded prospect on his way up to the majors, but that has yet to translate to significant offensive success. Amaya should continue to see regular playing time, however, as journeyman Christian Bethancourt is the only other catching depth currently on the MLB roster.

  • Porter Hodge RP | CHC

Cubs' Porter Hodge: Earns first MLB win Saturday

Hodge (1-1) tossed a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win in Saturday's 3-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out one.

Hodge continued his strong play and earned the first win of his MLB career Saturday. The 23-year-old rookie has a 2.36 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 30 strikeouts across his first 26.2 innings. The Cubs have gone with veteran Hector Neris as their closer this season, but he's on a one-year contract, meaning Hodge could potentially take over in 2025. The young righty has shown the stuff to be an effective closer at this level.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Launches ninth homer

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Twins.

Naylor's sixth-inning blast gave the Guardians just enough breathing room for the win. The catcher has gone just 6-for-28 (.214) over his last 10 games, though he has five extra-base hits and eight RBI in that span while sharing the catching duties with Austin Hedges. For the year, Naylor is slashing .203/.264/.363 with nine homers, 33 RBI, 33 runs scored, four stolen bases, 10 doubles and two triples over 88 contests.

  • Steven Kwan LF | CLE

Guardians' Steven Kwan: Clubs leadoff homer

Kwan went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday in a 2-1 win against Minnesota.

It looked like the game could be headed for plenty of scoring when Kwan led off the contest with a solo shot, but that ended up being one of just three runs produced in the matchup. The long ball was Kwan's 12th of the campaign through 91 games, which doubles his previous season high of six set across 147 contests in 2022. In addition to the increased power, Kwan has also shown improvement in his ability to rack up hits -- he ranks second in the majors with a .326 batting average after hitting just .268 last season.

  • Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Impressive despite loss

Woods Richardson (3-3) took the loss against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over seven innings.

Despite being handed the defeat, this was one of the best starts of Woods Richardson's career. He completed seven frames for the first time as a major-leaguer and needed just 89 pitches (62 of which were strikes) to do so. Woods Richardson also tied the second-highest single-game punchout total of his career and didn't walk a batter for the third time over 22 starts as a major-leaguer. Though he hasn't won a game since June 26, Woods Richardson has given up three or fewer earned runs in six of his seven appearances since that victory.

  • Emmanuel Clase RP | CLE

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Perfect in 34th save

Clase struck out one batter in a perfect inning of work to earn a save against the Twins on Saturday.

Cleveland's bullpen went nine-up, nine-down after starter Gavin Williams provided six one-run frames. Clase accounted for the final three outs, which he notched with relative easy on 13 pitches. With 34 saves on the season, Clase ranks second in the majors behind Ryan Helsley (37). Clase needs six more saves to reach 40 for the third consecutive campaign.

  • Gavin Williams SP | CLE

Guardians' Gavin Williams: Efficient, impressive in victory

Williams (2-4) earned the win over Minnesota on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out three batters over six innings.

Though Williams produced only three punchouts, he was very efficient, needing just 73 pitches (49 of which were strikes) to get through six frames. The right-handed hurler kept the Twins off the scoreboard until his final inning, and Cleveland's bullpen was perfect the rest of the way to ensure Williams ended up with the win. This was an excellent bounce-back for the 25-year-old after he gave up six runs across four frames against Baltimore in his previous start. Williams will carry a 4.38 ERA into his next outing, which is tentatively slated to take place in Milwaukee.
