Rockets' Reed Sheppard: Team-high 23 points in win Friday
19m agoSheppard produced 23 points (9-17 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five assists, four rebounds, three blocks and one steal across 30 minutes in Friday's 99-80 win over the Lakers in the NBA 2K25 Summer League.
Sheppard opened his Summer League play with an extremely productive outing, stuffing the stat sheet and hitting a team-high four three-pointers. The No. 3 overall pick was a lights-out shooter in one season with Kentucky, during which he averaged 12.5 points, 4.5 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 steals while shooting 52.1 percent from deep. The 20-year-old also impressed on defense Friday, but his 6-foot-2 frame could limit what he can do on that side of the ball against NBA competition.

Alex Sarr WAS C
Wizards' Alex Sarr: Game-high four blocks in win Friday
1h agoSarr tallied 12 points (4-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal across 32 minutes in Friday's 94-88 win over the Hawks in the NBA 2K25 Summer League.
Sarr has been touted as an athletic big with the potential to block shots at an elite level, and he displayed this ability in the Summer League opener with a game-high four swats. The 19-year-old struggled from the field in the highly-anticipated matchup against No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher. However, Sarr stuffed the stat sheet, hitting an efficient two-of-five attempts from deep as well. The No. 2 overall pick played for Perth in the NBL during the 2023-24 season, and he averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks across 17.3 minutes while shooting 29.0 percent from deep.

Zaccharie Risacher ATL SF
Hawks' Zaccharie Risacher: Team-high 18 points in loss Friday
1h agoRisacher accumulated 18 points (7-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block across 29 minutes in Friday's 94-88 loss to the Wizards in the NBA 2K25 Summer League.
Risacher produced a decent outing while displaying his ability to score in the Hawks' Summer League opener against No. 2 overall pick Alex Sarr. Risacher shot a game-high 16 attempts from the floor, and he led the Hawks' starting lineup in efficiency from the field at 43.8 percent. The 19-year-old has the potential to become an elite three-and-D player, and he already has professional experience from his time with the French club JL Bourg. During the EuroCup in 2023-24, Risacher averaged 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.8 steals while shooting 45.0 percent from beyond the arc in 23 games.

3h agoGibson signed a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Hornets on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Gibson briefly played for both the Knicks and Pistons last season, during which he averaged 1.7 points and 1.9 rebounds across 10.3 minutes in only 20 regular-season appearances. The 39-year-old will serve as a valuable veteran presence on the Hornets; however, he will likely pick up minimal playing time behind Mark Williams and Nick Richards.

11h agoHolmes suffered a torn Achilles in Denver's Summer League loss Friday to the LA Clippers, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN reports.
The Suns selected Holmes with the No. 22 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and traded him to Denver. Holmes will face a lengthy rehab process and is expected to miss the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign.

19h agoEdey won't play in Friday's Summer League contest against the Kings due to an ankle sprain, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.
The big man missed Memphis' final game in the Salt Lake City Summer League and is now set to miss the opener in Las Vegas, but the injury is not expected to be a long-term concern. Edey is expected to return at some point during the Las Vegas circuit, with the Grizzlies' next game being Monday against the Mavericks.

Zach Edey MEM C
Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Won't play Wednesday
3d agoEdey will sit out Wednesday's Summer League contest due to minor ankle soreness, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.

Nikola Jovic MIA PF
Heat's Nikola Jovic: Likely to miss Olympics
1d agoJovic (ankle) didn't travel with the Serbian national team for Friday's preparatory game against France and is considered likely to sit out the 2024 Paris Olympics, EuroHoops.net reports.
Jovic suffered his injury in June but appears to still be dealing with a fracture of the ankle joint. While there is no indication that the 20-year-old forward will miss any of the NBA season, his absence will be a big blow to the Serbian national team's hopes in Paris.
-

Kings' Drew Timme: Sticking with Sacramento for SL
2d agoTimme won't play for the Raptors during the Las Vegas Summer League and will instead remain with Sacramento, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Timme played for the Kings during the California Classic Summer League but was listed on Toronto's roster for the Las Vegas Summer League. However, he'll remain with the Kings in Las Vegas and will be replaced by Fardaws Aimaq on the Raptors' roster.
-
Gregory Jackson MEM PF
Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Nets 18 points with full line
3d agoJackson hit 7-of-14 shots (3-7 3Pt) and made 1-of-2 free throws for 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists, three triples and three steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's Summer League loss to the Thunder.
While most of Jackson's stat line was great, his six turnovers were less than stellar. Jackson posted some solid stat lines last season while logging big minutes for a team that was missing most of its key guys, but it'll be tough for him to replicate that success in Year 2 if Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke are healthy.
-
Kevin Durant PHO PF
Suns' Kevin Durant: Expected to play in Paris Olympics
3d agoDurant (calf) is expected to play in Team USA's first game of the Paris Olympics against Serbia on July 28 but may not be available for any exhibitions, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
Durant has yet to participate in training camp with Team USA due to a minor calf strain he suffered 10 days before the group got together in Las Vegas. The NBA superstar has already been ruled out for Wednesday's exhibition versus Canada, the first matchup between the teams since Canada beat Team USA in the 2023 FIBA World Cup's bronze medal game. The Americans sported a youthful squad for that tournament and are looking for revenge at the Olympics with a star-studded cast, including Durant, Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Joel Embiid. Following Wednesday's matchup, Team USA travels to Abu Dhabi for exhibitions versus Australia on July 15 and Serbia on July 17.
-

The All-Star could be back July 15 when the USA takes on Australia for an exhibition game in Abu Dhabi.

-
Kenyon Martin Jr. PHI SF
76ers' KJ Martin: Signs two-year deal with Philly
20h agoMartin signed a two-year, $16 million extension with the 76ers on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Martin will boost the team's bench depth due to his positional versatility. However, he's not expected to be a major factor in most fantasy formats. He averaged just 3.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game across 60 regular-season appearances (two starts) in 2023-24.
-
Ousmane Dieng OKC SF
Thunder's Ousmane Dieng: Shut down for Summer League
23h agoOklahoma City Blue assistant coach Daniel Dixon announced Friday that Dieng will not play in any more Summer League games, Brandon Rahbar of DailyThunder.com reports.
Dieng doesn't appear to have suffered any injury but will shut down for the remainder of the Summer League. The 21-year-old forward will look to compete for increased minutes for the Thunder this season, after averaging 4.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 11.1 minutes across 33 NBA appearances in 2023-24.
-
Josh Okogie PHO SF
Suns' Josh Okogie: Re-signs with Phoenix
2d agoOkogie signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Suns on Thursday, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports.
The second year of the deal is not guaranteed, so the Suns will wait and see what happens this upcoming season before committing to the rest of the deal. Okogie had a reduced role for Phoenix during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 4.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16.0 minutes across 60 regular-season appearances. He struggled to see minutes in 2023-24 but will aim to carve out a bench role now that Mike Budenholzer will be the head coach.

In 2023-24, he averaged 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.6 minutes across 20 NBA regular-season appearances for the Jazz. With Juzang signing his new contract, it appears that Utah sees him as a long-term piece for the franchise.
-
Devin Carter SAC SG
Kings' Devin Carter: Undergoes successful surgery
2d agoThe Kings announced Thursday that Carter underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
Carter sustained a left shoulder injury during a pre-draft workout, and the Kings were aware of the issue when selecting him with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Sacramento announced Thursday that they'll update his status in approximately six months, so the 22-year-old will presumably miss at least the first few months of the 2024-25 season. However, Carter is expected to make a full recovery with no long-term concerns.
-
Kobe Bufkin ATL SG
Hawks' Kobe Bufkin: Out for remainder of Summer League
2d agoThe Hawks announced Thursday that Bufkin suffered a right shoulder subluxation during Tuesday's practice and will not play in the Las Vegas Summer League.
While Bufkin's shoulder injury will keep him out of the Summer League, he is expected to make a full recovery ahead of training camp. The second-year guard averaged 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 11.5 minutes across 17 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.
-
Keon Ellis SAC SG
Kings' Keon Ellis: Drops 30 points in Summer League
3d agoEllis tallied 30 points (12-21 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block over 33 minutes in Wednesday's 91-90 loss to the Warriors in the California Classic.
Ellis closed the 2023-24 season in the starting lineup for Sacramento, but the Kings opted to give Ellis more time to refine his game in the Summer League. Over three games in the California Classic, Ellis averaged 20.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 29.0 minutes.
-
Keyonte George UTA SG
Jazz's Keyonte George: Another 30-point outing

George has scored at least 30 points in both Summer League games he's played in Salt Lake, but he needed only 15 shots to reach the milestone Wednesday after going 5-for-21 from the field in Utah's Summer League opener. George has totaled nine assists over his two appearances.
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Inks extension with New York
20h agoThe Knicks signed Brunson to a four-year, $156.5 million contract extension Friday that includes a player option in the fourth year, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Brunson was eligible to sign a five-year, $269 million deal in 2025, but his decision to take a pay cut in 2024 will provide the Knicks with cap flexibility as they look to maximize their championship window. The star guard was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2023-24 after averaging 28.7 points, 6.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 35.4 minutes across 77 regular-season appearances. Despite coming up short in the Eastern Conference Semifinals to Indiana, Brunson also had a fantastic playoff run, averaging 32.4 points, 7.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 39.8 minutes across 13 postseason outings. With OG Anunoby already signing a five-year extension this offseason, Brunson's decision could allow New York the ability to retain players like Mikal Bridges long-term.
-
Justin Powell NBADRAFT PG
76ers' Justin Powell: Out for Summer League
20h agoPowell won't play in the Las Vegas Summer League due to a left groin strain, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
Powell has yet to make his NBA debut after spending the 2023-24 campaign in the G League. There is no indication his left groin strain will keep him out for the regular season. He is currently set to enter the 2024-25 season as a free agent.
-
Jordan Ford SAC PG
Pelicans' Jordan Ford: Joining Pelicans for Summer League
1d agoThe Pelicans added Ford to their Summer League roster on Friday, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

-
Kyle Lowry PHI PG
76ers' Kyle Lowry: Agrees to one-year deal with 76ers
2d agoLowry has agreed to return to the 76ers on a one-year deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The 38-year-old veteran and Philly native will again be helping back up Tyrese Maxey for the 76ers this upcoming season. He may be able to provide some low-end value as an assist specialist in 16-team leagues, but he's well past his days of relevancy in standard, 12-team settings.
-
Jazian Gortman DAL PG
Mavericks' Jazian Gortman: Inks deal with Dallas
2d agoThe Mavericks signed Gortman to an Exhibit 10 contract Thursday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

-
Daishen Nix MIN PG
Timberwolves' Daishen Nix: Inks two-way contract
3d agoNix signed a two-way contract with the Timberwolves on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Nix will be on a two-way deal with Minnesota for a second consecutive season after appearing in 15 games with the T-Wolves in 2023-24. Considering he played sparingly last season and Minnesota used its first-round pick on a point guard in Rob Dillingham, Nix will likely spend most of the upcoming season in the G League.
