  • Avalanche's Matthew Phillips: Signs one-year deal

    Phillips penned a one-year, two-way contract with the Avalanche on Friday.

    The 26-year-old had a goal and five points in 31 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. split between Washington and Pittsburgh. Phillips spent nine games at the AHL level as well last season, scoring three times while adding three assists. Phillips will compete for a bottom-six spot with the Avalanche at training camp.

  • Avalanche's Oliver Kylington: Agrees to one-year contract

    Kylington signed a one-year, $1.05 million contract with Colorado on Monday.

    Kylington generated three goals, eight points, 42 shots on net, 51 blocked shots and 24 hits in 33 regular-season appearances with Calgary in 2023-24. After missing the entire 2022-23 campaign due to a personal matter, the 27-year-old blueliner didn't debut last season until Jan. 25. Kylington will compete for a depth spot with the Avalanche during training camp.

  • Jared McIsaac: Headed to Czechia

    McIsaac signed a one-year contract with HC Litvinov of the Czech Extraliga on Monday.

    McIsaac earned one goal and four assists in 21 AHL regular-season outings between Grand Rapids and Providence in 2023-24. He also appeared in three regular-season contests and one playoff game for HC Ambri-Piotta of Switzerland's National League during the 2023-24 campaign. The 24-year-old defender doesn't have any NHL experience yet.

  • Steven Kampfer: Signs with KHL club

    Kampfer signed a one-year contract with Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL on Monday.

    Kampfer registered three goals and 22 points in 45 regular-season appearances for AHL Tucson in 2023-24. The 35-year-old blueliner has 15 goals and 24 assists in 231 career NHL contests.

  • Michael McLeod: Heading to KHL

    McLeod signed a contract with Barys Astana of the KHL on Friday.

    McLeod was not given a qualifying offer from the Devils after being charged in connection with an alleged incident that occurred during a 2018 Hockey Canada event. McLeod will follow in the footsteps of another player facing charges stemming from that event, Dillon Dube, in heading to the KHL while awaiting trial.

    Nick Swaney: Signs AHL deal

    Swaney signed a one-year contract with AHL Chicago on Friday.

    Swaney played in only seven AHL games last season, scoring once and adding an assist. The 26-year-old forward has played in one NHL game in his career, recording three hits in 9:33 of ice time in the Wild's season finale during the 2022-23 campaign.

    Brad Hunt: Signs AHL deal

    Hunt penned a one-year contract with AHL Hershey on Friday.

    The 35-year-old blueliner spent the 2023-24 season with AHL Colorado after spending parts of 10 straight seasons in the NHL. Hunt had 16 goals and 49 points in 70 regular-season appearances with the Eagles last season. Hunt has played 288 NHL games in his career, scoring 26 times while adding 60 assists for Edmonton, St. Louis, Nashville, Vegas, Minnesota, Vancouver and Colorado.

  • Kings' Jordan Spence: Pens two-year contract

    Spence signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Kings on Thursday.

    Spence became a regular on the LA blue line in 2023-24, tallying two goals and 22 assists in 71 regular-season appearances. The 23-year-old averaged 1:34 minutes with the man-advantage during the season, scoring once while adding five helpers. He could lose some fantasy value next season as Brandt Clarke is expected to quarterback the second power-play unit.

  • Ivan Prosvetov: Inks three-year KHL contract

    Prosvetov signed a three-year contract with the KHL's CSKA on Thursday, per Brennan Vogt of The-Rink.com.

    Prosvetov posted a 3.16 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 11 regular-season contests with the Avalanche last season. He also had a 2.33 GAA and a .921 save percentage across 21 regular-season AHL outings with the Eagles. Prosvetov was a Group 6 unrestricted free agent this summer because he's 25 years old and has played fewer the 28 career NHL games.

  • Alexander Barabanov: Inks KHL contract

    Barabanov (lower body) signed a two-year deal with AK Bars of the KHL on Thursday, Max Miller of The Hockey News reports.

    Barabanov struggled in 2023-24, scoring only four goals while adding nine assists in 46 regular-season appearances, after a good 2022-23 campaign in which he had 15 goals and 47 points in 68 appearances. Barabanov's NHL career is likely over, as he is 30 years of age.
