Hamilton provided Boston's lone hit with runners in scoring position in the second inning when his double plated two runs. Other than that, the Red Sox went hitless in 11 at-bats with RISP. Hamilton went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 9-5 win over Kansas City.
Hamilton made a second consecutive start and could be emerging from a slump. Coming out of the All-Star break, Hamilton went 3-for-33 (.091) over 10 games before given a couple of days off over the weekend. That may have been the cure; Hamilton went 4-for-8 with a double, a home run, two RBI and two steals in starts Sunday and Monday.

Hamilton went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk, two stolen bases and two total runs scored in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Rangers.
Hamilton sat out the first two games versus the Rangers after going 0-for-12 with five strikeouts over three contests versus the Mariners earlier in the week. The reset seemed to help, as the infielder put together his first multi-hit effort since July 14. His recent slump has taken some of the wind out of his sails -- he's at a .253/.307/.395 slash line with five home runs, 28 steals, 19 RBI, 38 runs scored, 13 doubles and a triple through 251 plate appearances. Hamilton will need to find more consistency at the plate to avoid ceding more work to Nick Sogard or Romy Gonzalez.
