Bandera City Park Pavilion

Bandera City Park is located in beautiful downtown Bandera. We offer fishing, swimming and picnic areas with BBQ pits. The entrance and exit is the gate at 8th Street and Maple.

Any events that you wish to hold at the park need to be approved by the city first. Please contact the City Administrator's office with your request. 

Hours and Information

The park opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 8:00 pm. There is no overnight camping allowed.

Weekdays

  • Monday through Friday are free unless there is a holiday or special event.

The below rates apply Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from Easter to Labor Day.

  • General Admission (adults and children 12+): $10.00
  • Bandera County residents and children (6-11): $5.00
  • Active military, veteran, first responders, seniors (65+), BISD students & children under 6: Free

Season Park Pass Information

  • Anyone with a utility account with the City can get two park passes.
    • If you live in the City limits and pay a water utility bill it is still Free but you must come to City Hall and pick up your park pass. You can not show proof of residency at the gate.
  • The Bandera City Park season pass is valid for a carload of no more than 5 people. Each additional person will be charged the usual park fees. 
  • They are valid from April - September.
  • Seasonal Park Pass Application (PDF) - for non-utility account holders only
  • Season park passes: $100.00

Park Rules

  • You can no longer park on the lower level. Do not cross the boundaries.
  • Park hours: 8 am-30 minutes before sundown.
  • No camping.
  • No open or ground fires. All fires shall be solely for cooking purposes and be confined to a fire box or portable BBQ pit. Violators will be fined $25.00 to $250.00.
  • The speed limit is 10 mph.
  • No glass containers.
  • No swimming nearby or standing on the dam.
  • No off-road or all-terrain vehicles (4-wheelers, go carts, dirt bikes, etc.)
  • No swinging from any ropes or tree limbs. You may only enter the water from the river bank.
  • No entering onto the south bank of the river as you will be on private property and will be trespassing. 
  • No loud music.
  • No littering. Please use provided garbage cans.
  • No loose animals. All animals must be attended to and on a leash at all times. 
  • Do not move picnic tables.
  • Park only in designated areas. Please read the signs. 
  • No horse or recreational vehicles are allowed. 
  • No refunds will be issued for park admission.

Bandera City Park Equestrian Rules

  • A sign of Civil Practice and Remedies Code Chap 87 needs to be visible
  • Horses must stay on designated trails
  • No bare back, horses have to be saddled
  • Single riders only, no double riders allowed
  • No bicycles, motorcycles, dirt bikes or 4-wheelers on the horse trails
  • Negative Coggins required
  • Regulation of respect to wildlife and wildlife habitat
  • No picking of wildflowers
  • No dumping of trash (Leave no trace law)
  • No alcoholic beverages & no glass containers
  • No reckless riding
  • Horses right of way, but be respectful to hikers
  • No horse trailers in park (Horse trailers are allowed in the park for permitted parades only.)
  • Horses must be controlled & restrained at all times; either tied to a horse trailer, tied to a tree, tied to a hitching post or reins held in hands
  • No open fires in the park at all; all fires are in designated city provided BBQ pit areas only
  • No horses along river in main park area on days when entry fees are collected
  • Horses must stay on upper level of main area on days when entry fees are collected

Water Level and Safety Information
