Well, I guess what, they're trying to push me out of the race. Well, let me say this, cause I can. I'm staying in the race.

But ahead of the speech, supporters like Shana Verstegan said they have concerns about him leading the Democratic ticket after last week's debate.

There's a lot on his mind, but my immediate response is he's done such a good job. But we also need a Democrat in power for the next, the next four years. And if the American people are feeling nervous, then that makes me a little bit nervous, too.

'Biden's campaign is hoping that tonight's ABC interview will help turn things around. Today, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre admitted Biden had checked in verbally with his doctor about his cold, contradicting her earlier claims that Biden hadn't seen a doctor since February. CNN's chief medical correspondent, Doctor Sanjay Gupta, a neurologist, says Biden should be encouraged to undergo detailed cognitive and movement disorder testing, and those results should be made available to the public.

Donald Trump's attorneys are trying to use the Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity to help him in his classified documents case in Florida, the court's conservative wing found presidents have an absolute immunity from prosecution for core official acts. The decision is tied to the federal case over efforts to subvert the 2020 election, but it could end up impacting all four criminal cases against the former president. In a new court filing today, Trump's team said they wanted an updated schedule in the classified documents case so they can argue points related to the Scotus decision. They previously filed a motion seeking to dismiss most of the charges the president is facing.

Texas officials are warning residents about the looming threat of heavy rain and flooding from Tropical Storm Beryl as it moves into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. The strong storm weakened over Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, but is expected to regain hurricane strength this weekend. Beryl was the earliest category five hurricane on record in the Atlantic earlier this week, killed at least nine people and devastated a number of small islands in the eastern Caribbean. Beryl was also the strongest storm to hit Jamaica in more than 15 years.

The U.S. government has opened a criminal investigation into a doping case involving Chinese swimmers. In 2021, 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive for a banned performance enhancing drug several months before the Tokyo Olympics. Those swimmers were allowed to compete in Tokyo and went on to win medals. World Aquatics told CNN today that their executive director was ordered to testify in the case. 11 of the 23 Chinese swimmers are set to compete in the Paris Olympics. CNN's Patrick Snell said all eyes will be on them this summer.

The spotlight is going to be on them very intensely indeed. When they set foot into the pool and prepare to compete. It goes without saying none of this will be sorted, of course, before the Games in France. The hope is that this can all be cleared up and the competition can be clean, because the US is going to be hosting the Summer games in 2028. Watch this space scrutiny and a lot of intense focus on those swimmers.

'A Romanian court has ruled that Andrew Tate can leave the country, but he has to stay in the European Union as he awaits trial on charges of human trafficking and rape. Tate, a self-proclaimed misogynist influencer, and his brother Tristan, along with two Romanian citizens, were arrested in December 2022. They were formally indicted on charges of human trafficking, rape and setting up a criminal gang to sexually exploit women last June. All of them deny the charges. Tate shot to internet fame in recent years, racking up billions of views on TikTok with rants about male dominance, female submission and well.
