If you haven't yet noticed, birdwatching has officially become trendy. There are of course plenty of bird feeders you can buy, but seeing that birds are resourceful sorts (hello, nests), they'll no doubt appreciate some good ol' homespun, use-what-you-have craftsmanship. Birds also prefer to occupy spaces that mimic the colors and textures of nature, which means this project that involves turning a fallen branch into a feeder a no-brainer.

To make: Screw a screw eye bolt into the top of the branch for hanging. Drill holes in a branch using a spade bit. Fill holes with peanut butter then bird seed. Thread a length of rope through the bolt and hang. Refill as needed.
