The manager of a Tenerife nightclub where Jay Slater spent his last hours before going missing has broken his silence after a member of staff's chilling revelation.

A waitress at Papagayo, in Playa de las Americas this week told how how Jay "didn't look well" when he attended a rave there before he vanished on June 17.

After the rave at the venue, the 19-year-old from Lancashire is said to have travelled to a remote Airbnb in the north of the island with two men, before laving the place on foot and heading into the rural Parc de Teno.

Emergency services carried out a major search for Jay until June 30, with police say their probe into disappearances is still ongoing, The Mirror reports.

A waitress who allegedly saw Jay during the rave has spoken about the condition he was in at the time - claiming that the 19-year-old was "unstable on his feet" and "didn't look well."

Now the a manager who was on shift has responded when asked for a comment by the Manchester Evening News. The manager said that "no one will talking" when quizzed about the waitress' comments on Jay's state in the club, the manager further added: "No one would be speaking about that."

Previously, video footage circulated online showed a young man at the party who resembles Jay, appearing to show him in the same attire as the clothes he was last seen wearing.

Discussing her memories of Jay at the club, the waitress said"I remembered Jay, because he was unstable on his feet. I gave him some water for free as he didn't look well. I remembered him, my boyfriend called me in the morning and said he was missing. I recognised his picture straight away. I feel so sad, it feels very close to home as I am his age as well. I feel so much for his family."

Former police detective Mark Williams Thomas is also carrying out an investigation into Jay's disappearance. In an update on Friday, the ex-cop described how witnesses claimed Jay was "very much awake and still buzzing" on the morning of June 17.

Following the event, NRG Festival organisers said in a social media post: "Firstly, thank you to everyone who came to our NRG event in Tenerife last weekend. As you'll be aware, among the attendees was 19-year-old Jay Slater who, after leaving the event, was reported missing in the north of the island on Monday.

"We are grateful for the many thousands who have engaged with and shared the appeals from our own and many other channels over the days since. Despite the widespread coverage and hard work of the local authorities and volunteers involved in the search at the time of posting Jay has not yet been found. That such a devastating situation has arisen has deeply affected us all."
