He was born February 14, 1993, in Minot, North Dakota, and spent most of his life in Bossier City and Shreveport, Louisiana. A graduate of Caddo Magnet High School (Class of 2011), he attended Centenary College (Class of 2015) and graduated summa cum laude with a dual major in Neuroscience and Biology. He furthered his studies at Ochsner-LSU Health Shreveport where he obtained his Medical Doctorate in 2019 and remained there for his residency in Pediatrics. During his time in medical school and residency, he met and married his wife, Dr. Catherine Hall, on November 13, 2021. Samuel graduated from his residency in 2022 and spent the following year in Cleveland, Ohio, completing a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Case Western Reserve Medical Center. In June 2023, he and his wife returned to Shreveport, Louisiana, where he served at the Sleep and Neurology Clinic.
Samuel Hall was a man of many passions and interests who loved to study, learn, and develop new skills. Music was one of his primary means of expression, and over his life he learned close to ten different instruments, mostly self-taught, his favorites being guitar, cello, trombone, and voice. At the tender age of ten years old, he started leading worship at his church, Bossier Christian Center, and, later, Eastwood Assembly of God in Haughton, Louisiana. He continued to serve with other worship teams at Bethel Christian Assembly of God in Cleveland, Ohio, and Celebration Church when he returned to Shreveport, Louisiana, after his studies. He was constantly discovering new interests and his projects included woodworking, crafting whips, throwing boomerangs, electronics, audio engineering, reading, cooking, biking, fitness, philosophy, and business, just to name a few. He was a creative problem solver and prioritized efficiency and productivity in his daily processes.
Most importantly, he was a devoted Christian and a family man. Raised in a loving, Christian home by parents who pastored his local church, he grew up knowing the Lord and demonstrated spiritual maturity and faith beyond his years. He was known for his kind and gentle spirit, patience, wise counsel, playful wit, and deeply loyal friendship. His character truly reflected the love of God to everyone he knew, and those who knew him best find great solace in knowing that he was saved by the grace of Jesus Christ and lives on in Heaven with Him where one day we will all be reunited forever.
