The Washington Post has announced Peter Elkins-Williams as its head of Global Partnerships & Corporate Development, a new role designed to lead the company’s efforts to drive growth through partnerships and mergers & acquisitions.

“Peter has been a key player in the digital media evolution over the past decade and offers unmatched veteran experience to The Post,” shared Chief Growth Officer Karl Wells. “He is a natural fit for The Post as we work to grow our relationships across technology platforms, incubate and launch partnership programs, and execute on more inorganic growth opportunities.”

He joins The Washington Post most recently from EMC Growth Advisors, an advisory firm he founded to work with leading publishers, technology companies, and private equity and venture capital investors. His work there included consulting for The Washington Post from September 2023. His engagements ranged from strategic planning exercises to new product development to leading M&A processes, including the successful sale of Dwell Magazine.

Elkins-Williams’ proven track record launching new businesses and products extends to his previous roles leading Corporate & Business Development at Atlantic Media and Vox Media, including The Atlantic’s first paid products and Vox Media’s acquisition of New York Magazine. He was instrumental in pioneering global news partnerships at Meta during the platform’s transformative Facebook News Initiative, aimed to socialize and personalize the consumption of original reporting with millions of users. His expertise also includes having served as a senior adviser to both McKinsey & Co.’s digital media practice and Golding Partners’s technology banking practice.

He is based in Washington, reporting directly to Chief Growth Officer Karl Wells. His team includes Emily Echave, who leads global partnerships, and Valerie Ammirati, who leads strategic partnerships.
